How To get GTAV .ydd .ytd Formats in to 3dsmax?

Hi.

I modded GTA IV a few years back in fact its where I cut my teeth in modding games, before i moved on to modding skyrim and Arma.

Now I have returned to mod GTA V after I saw openv 2.6 was released, and while I have no issues getting the game files extracted with Openv The tool I used to import them in to 3dsmax (GIMS by 3DBoomer) seems to be having trouble identifying the new file extensions .ydd .ytd .

 

As im rusty in GTA modding can somebody tell me how I could get the gta ped & player models in and out of the game or even in to FBX format! so I can start rigging new skins to the skeleton and create a set-up file for others to use, Maybe i've just missed a step somewhere.

I've come along way since I started modding games and I could even create a tutorial for others once I get the workflow down.

You should wait a little bit, OpenIV doesn't support openFormats for .ydd and .ytd yet, work in progress

Thanks for the Update.

Will there ever be an option for OpenV to export/Import GTA Models as FBX format?

 

It would make OpenV incredibility powerful and straightforward to models or animations direct in to any modelling application, without the need for any other stepping stones or plugins.

FBX format is the most common and useful format in the industry for good reason as it exports skin weight data, texture mapping, animations, Morph targets, Basically Everything!.

Not sure why people so unpatient for model modding knowing that's far more complex and will probably take some months, people should focus getting ytd and ydd texture containers moddable first which I think should be the priority.

I am also waiting for this. I dreaded IV modding because it was all Z-Mod which is trash. Can't wait to see if we can use 3DS.

This, and the ytd's for shop items so we can add mods.

Any updates on when we might be able to convet files between GTA5 ydd and 3dsmax?
