Lowers melee damage - removes fatal strikes

Note: this mod alters only melee damage settings, no overall health settings are changed.

Install:

Use openIV - add file to common.rpf/data/action

What I'd like to add if possible:

Shoving

blood decals(optional)

This is superb. Makes you feel less invincible. Hated the one-hit KO's. I don't suppose you could make melee weapons weaker? I'd love to hit someone several times with a bat or hammer before killing them. Obviously stronger than punches, though.

Is there any way to get random civilians to stop fighting to the death? It seems like if I aggro someone, both they and anyone friendly to them in the area decides that the only way the conflict is ending is if someone is dead, or pulls a gun. It'd be nice to be able to win a fistfight without having to kill my opponent and freaking out nearby civs enough that they call the cops.(I mean, I get why they call the cops, since you literally have to murder your opponent or threaten them with a gun to make them stop chasing you. It still feels really silly, though.) It's funny how Saints Row gets civilian reactions to fighting more right than GTA. In SR, if you get a bit of damage up on a civ, and most of the time if you're even a bit threatening to them, they'll run away, because they don't want to fight. Civs in GTA are psychotic, though, to the point that they're willing to fight to the death because you stood too close to them for a few seconds. XD

Melee weapons are also tweaked (pretty sure in this first version, if no I've got the tweaks done, just need to upload it). The melee weapon takedowns are still enable though, and happen occasionally. But you should be able to give someone a beatdown with the baseball bat now.

Yeah, honestly ped combat AI in V is such a step down from IV. In IV peds would run away at a certain health level. So much smarter. I've been poking around in the files to try to find a way to fix that, but I think it's not a small tweak so far.

Is it possible to extend this into a cage fighting ring like back in BoGT?

You should increase the punch speed if you can, it would make it look less sluggisn and it would make for more fastpaced fights considering how much it takes to beat a pedestrian now
