Hey is the 1.4 update that was released 2 hours ago different from the 1.4 released earlier?

Not really, I should post this here too.

 

PSA
I re-uploaded v1.4 with an updated readme, removed the stun gun optional file for now since it's not working 100% and added an install path example to the options folder. I wont be responding to comments for a while, so feel free to help out any people new to modding while I'm gone or just direct them to the FAQ in the description. Regards.

Hello, first of all, thank you for this mod, it is truly outstanding! It's great! It's just about everything you could really wish for on cops in GTA V.

A recommendation though, I would recommend placing backup files for every file that's being modified, such as files like pedaccuracy.meta, navacapabilites.meta, and a few more (which are not the 'Backup' folder), otherwise noobies like me will be modifying things they don't want to modify, it's of course, not your fault AT ALL, it is mine for not backing up those files, but I do recommend that. Regardless, amazing mod, good job :D

Since the creator of the mod is temporarily gone, does anyone if the GTA update creates conflicts with his mod or his other mods such as the graphical 'Total Overhaul' mod?

EDIT: From what I have heard the patch modified a buttload of .meta so I think it's safe to say we should wait for a mod update.

Updated to latest patch, only one file this mod edits was changed.

 

You need to reinstall the mod after any updates, because Rockstar just update the entire update.rpf each time.

Are you going to work on re-implementing the stun-guns at one star? I mean, it certainly fits with the game. I remember early in the story there is a switch scene for Franklin where Lamar is causing trouble with the police, and the two of them run away with one-star and the cops have stun-guns. It made a lot of sense and I'm surprised that outside of this scene one star wanted levels weren't like this.

I think the problem is cops use it like a regular pistol, and since the stun gun doesn't have a long range most of their shots do nothing.

any chances to reduce the amount of cops at +3 stars?

While I think it might be a challenge to fight this many cops (not the case in the pic as I was using cheats to test the wanted level system haha) I also think its a bit too much lol.

 

Also, for those who has the non army version, it would be cool if NOOSE units equips Machine guns.

Is the advanced rifle, the bullpup rifle and the assault SMG and the special carbine used? if not, then they should be equipped by NOOSE at 4-5 five stars.

Well like I mentioned, they knew how to use them in that switch scene, so there must be some way to get it to work.

I really want to use the LEI compilation (which includes Olanov's Added Detectives) together with this mod. The problem is that some parts of it overwrite each other's and CPRE's files and I'm too dumb to accurately combine them. I think it would be awesome if CPRE became the part of LEI and they made the All-In-One release with all settings tuned to work together.

 

EDIT Okay, now I looked through the files and it looks like without the Sixth Star there is no conflicts anymore and it shouldn't be installed together with CPRE anyway because they change the same thing, which explains why CPRE isn't the part of LEI, they simply preferred the Sixth Star over CPRE. It's all clear now, thanks!

I don't think they would let me integrate it. I'll try to make a patch for it when they stop updating it frequently if possible.

BTW, would you be able to add park rangers to the wanted level in Blaine County? Maybe they'd appear up until 3 stars, then get fully replaced with others.

Also, did you make it so that Highway patrol cops always spawn in sheriff vehicles up to 3 stars? From what I've played, that seems to be the case, with no normal sheriff cops until 3 stars, where they show up with body armor.

@xCamoLegend The Law Enforcement Improvements mod now has a thing called "FIB agents now use all clothing and have the correct speeches." I was wondering if you could add that too, as, for what I know, they don't speak. Also, is what Jax765 said true? Do the LSHP cops spawn in Sheriff vehicles now instead of Sheriffs/ Debuties? (haven't tried the latest version yet)

AMAZING mod work. How many hours and how long did these take? I hope R* gives you a freaking job or you have some donate button if you are the sole one responsible for all these mods.

--- What are people's overall impressions? Are police still a good threat?

From a few vids I've seen, I was worried suppressors worked too well. The Witness idea sounded amazing. I love the idea of actually being able to hide from a crime (with vanilla times of losing wanted stars) PROPERLY.

 

--- does the game differentiate between if you've been seen or heard?

Seems it was just a weird coincidence, they were spawning quite frequently before, but now it seems to be a good split between highway cops and normal sheriffs.

That's already in the game. Get in different vehicle when out of sight and your player icon will turn grey on the radar. You can get within line of sight of cops while driving and they won't see you (unless you get very close)

Can confirm. Have swapped cars while out of sight, then managed to drive past cop cars without being noticed. Not a frequent occurrence though. Requires a bit of luck.

Yeah. I'm learning certain things work roughly. I have driven past cops too (you must hug the sidewalk and be really good).

 

-- Also ''hiding spots'' (while on foot) are somewhat recognized. Though you have to leave the initial area of the crime first, it seems. It feels a bit random though.

 

--- I do wish killing witnesses worked, so you can continue to escape or hide on foot.

 

--- I wish your icon can turn grey while on foot. If you're at 1 star and very well hidden or something. Hell or even 2 stars... not sure what I'm getting at.

 

What do others think?

thanks. I was still trying to figure this out.

 

edit: Getting in a car with no witnesses around does not work though. It's still proximity based. Accurate and dynamic gameplay in this aspect would be great. I think it's possible.

Well if you hide in a bush or something on foot your icon will turn gray. It works too, since if you're in their line of sight they won't spot you. You just better be lucky enough that they don't get too close to the bush. Really helps with helicopters more.
