Agreed...the fog adds to the immersion...

LOD plays a big role here...with fog it kind of binds together.. _CP_ should add this..

 

btw this is a real shot of LA:

As you can see its smog (smoke with fog)...looks really sweet imo..

 

Just imagine how ugly it would look if everything is removed and only the buildings remain... :panic:[ The case right now with VisualV ]

^Well that is a sweet shot,which doesn't match V's case,as i said... smog in V is very close to the player which is unreal,second it's smoggy all the time,it's funny that you went and picked the smoggy shot and left the rest of the non smog pictures of LA.

Here the real LA with zero smog :p

Real life is lovely..isn't it ?

 

After all this seems to be a personal preference thing,make 2 versions or simply release it how it is,changing it's value isn't that hard if you think it needs increasing or decreasing.

but real life don't have lods... and pop-ins... and aliasing

 

unless you have some kind of a vision distortion, but that's another story

What you said opens another story itself,but anyway,the issues that you mentioned ( pop-ins & aliasing) are hardware related and have nothing to do with fog,as for lods it isn't that noticeable.

the time .xml file confuses me a little theres no file to replace where it is in the archive however the time.xml file is somewhere else

Closer to the corners of the screen the picture is divided into blue and red channels which are offst against each other. Good example from Wiki:

I'm telling you, it was all base game til VV.

Is it really not how its supposed to look?

In-game I had the time locked around 12:30 and extra sunny weather set.

This photo, this photo right here. That's what's missing from VisualV. The damn distant blue shade. Imho it's really important. You can make it optional, but for me it's really important to include it. Not even the white fog, but this blue shade on buldings/terrain further away. I cannot stress enough how much more impressive the game looks because of it. For some reason photos without fog and this blue shade make the map look like a model an architect would build to show it to his client, hah.

 

Anyway. I think you absolutely should include the blue shading, or at least make it optional. Just like fog. Making as many things optional as you can would help reach much more broad audience <3
