It's already been fixed. The light from lightning was casted only on trees and bushes, not on everything.

Dear robi29, i don't know if it's fixed, but i saw it clearly, in the day time, in stormy weather, lighting was casting on trees and bushes only. And even this is not the main problem. I don't think that lighting is supposed to cast on anything in the daytime. Not so visually at least. :)

Dear authors, listen, there is another bug with underwater. More deeper i'm diving more brighter it's going (in the nighttime). So, it seems that the most darkest underwater area is right under the surface and at the bottom is very bright as if it is daytime. Very confusing, you know. :)

That is strange. The light pollution looks fine in your game. On mine, it looks like it did before. I think OpenIV isn't installing some of the files. I have had that happen on many occasions.

@nkjellman Don't you forget that light pollution depends on the weather. There is no light pollution in clear weather and a lot of it in smog, fog, rain, etc.

@robi29 Dear robi29, pardon for bothering, but am i the only one who has the problem i mentioned in one of the my previous posts?! Thank you.

God bless you.

It's hard to do more darkerness in underwater deep, because the timecycle modifier is for days and nights too. It's called "underwater_deep". So we can do more darker, but it'll be darker in days too. We'll try to strike the right balance between days and nights.

Deep underwater is supposed to be very dark both at night and in the day as less light makes it to the deeper areas of water. Go deep enough, and the variation between night and day won't be much different.

Here is a side by side shot of rubi29's game and mine. The illuminated areas are too bright, but the dark areas look fine.

Mine:

robi29:

Why is the light pollution so bright in my game? It causes the glowing objects bug, and makes things light up from non existent light sources. I also noticed that the country side was brightened up at night too. Did you guys accidentally upload some files from one of the last two versions?

When it comes down to the light pollution, you can't trust the images on Google as they are photo shopped to make it look much brighter and more light polluted.

To prove my point, check out the spoiler.

Here is an image of Chicago that I took in real life.

v9WUfWF.jpg

And here is an image off Google from the same location. It looks much brighter, and more saturated. Never have I ever gone to Chicago at night and seen it look this bright and saturated. I guarantee that this is the same case with Los Angeles. The photographers modify the contrast in Photoshop to make the color much more saturated and vibrant. I see this with the night images on Google Images of Los Angeles and Chicago, so I'm pretty sure that the same thing is going on. The other thing I should note is that my phone does like to over brighten and over saturate night images, so I have to turn down the brightness of the image. I know this because I see the real scene, and the scene from my camera.

dyAMJtZ.jpg

Here is another one to prove my point.

My photo.

cxMK1My.jpg

Photo off Google Images.

PkzGq0j.jpg

Also on a side note: It does look good in my game around 3:30/4:00 AM in my game with the latest version, but the other times still have the photographer saturation/brightness on the illuminated objects. Plus random objects don't glow unrealistically ether.

@nkjellman

Maybe you use some ReShade preset, which provides more contrast or saturation? Or you've changed some values in timecycles?

The last screenshot shows the "light on trees" fix in thunder weather. Now the light is casted on the ground too.

In the new update we'll change colour correction to more warm looking. You could notice it on the shots above.

I am using the ReShade with ENB Series that came with the mod.

Edit: Nice job with your latest work. Out of curiosity, what time are the night shots taken at?

With future updates, would it be possible to make it a little more modular? As in, make it so that removed effects are optional? For instance, with every release I need to go in and re-enable stuff like weapon wheel DOF, which I think serves a purpose (putting the focus on the weapon icons rather than the background). Haven't installed the latest version yet, which removes first person lens flare, which I'm not a big fan of removing either.

So, I've been wondering, is it possible to automatically raise draw distances for every single vehicle in the game? Because having it high for Gang Burrito only leads to incostistency and it really bugs me. I really don't want to bother you with another detail no one except me will actually notice, so I'm looking for a way to automatize it.

Automatically no, but is it really necessary?

Well, not really, I just thought that if one is done, then others, ideally, should be too, so it would be, as I said, consistent. Nevermind.

Okay, regarding the light pollution problem I have been bitching about. It is caused by the ReShade that you guys provided.

So since everything else looks golden with ReShade, I thought of an idea. With the ReShade add on, you guys could add timecycle files that have the light pollution reduced greatly, so when you have ReShade, it will make it look like it does normally. I would also extend the far clip values in the water so you can see farther as it looks weird with the HBAO effects going through the void.

Could we get back on topic?

@_CP_: I noticed that when you go deep under water, the colors are also less vibrant then when you are in more shallow water.

Edit: I did a quick test. It turns out that the reason why Michael, Trevor, and Franklin's characters cast shadows from headlights is due to something in the files, rather than a native that is being called. I found this out by spawning Michael in a vehicle with the Simple Trainer and the shadows were present from the headlights of the car he was driving. This gives me even more of a reason to want to get into the peds.ymt, and pedpersonality.ymt. I feel like there is a flag in peds.ymt that is allowing the headlight shadows to appear, or it could be related to the personality the peds are set to.

So if we did make this apply to all peds, the only problem is that a running vehicle's headlights will not cast shadows if no one is in the car. On the bright side, rarely is there ever a vehicle running without anyone in it. In most cases, people would have to install IV Style Exit anyways.

Dear _CP_ and robi29, look at this shot please: http://imgur.com/EBaezTR

'Lamar Down' mission, 4.11 AM, right after the rain. Is it normal (the plane especially)?

p.s. the problem is (i guess) that i was playing a mission when it was raining and after i finished it i decided to replay the 'Lamar Down' mission and got that effect.

Thank you for your time.

I've noticed sometimes the clouds in the sky don't match the actual weather at times. For example, in my game, there are times when the weather is cloudy, but the sky doesn't have many clouds in it. I can tell it is supposed to be cloudy because the eye-find page says cloudy in the corner, and the fog in the distance looks like it does in cloudy weather. It looks like you are experiencing the opposite.

This can also happen even without any weather mods when you change the weather with scripts, rather than when it naturally changes.

Who cares , even if the files are stolen THE MOD IS GREAT . Anyways i give credit to the author because is the only one that combined lots of mods in one . The result is a great gameplay. There are a lot of mod authors developing mods and most of the time installing those makes your game crash because of incompatibility. Josh did a great job to have one mod with all the features one want to see during gameplay. This alone ist a graet job already, the authors claming stolen files should be happy to see their mods in combination with others running flawlesley. So i dont care about stolen files and so should other do .... Too much hate around authors.... but easy to solve just credit each others work if the result is an extraordinary gaming experience. ( since the programming of features i limited it might be possible that a programmer comes up with the same idea alreday exist i doubt that this is a stolen thought its jsut coincidence sometimes...... like when you have a trillion songs out some might ound the same.......

You chose the wrong topic man. If you're so lazy to combine the mods you need right from their respective authors and if you admit thieving what else should i say.

Have you ever invented anything? Have you ever created anything? What if your principal (professor) takes your learned work and will say everyone that its his.

Do you really believe that if these guys uploaded their mods here for free they haven't spent much time working on them. They made a lot efforts creating their mods and then some booby is coming sayin' that he created a tremendous mod from scratch, that he is so f-word genius, praise and credit him.

You ain't right 'cause no one gave him a permission to do that. When a man is dumb he's always trying to become popular at other people's expense.

So, WE SHOULD NOT DO...

p.s. i'm just curious if you've bought any song of this trillion...

No i did not buy songs i download them for free or get pirated games .HAHAHHA....And if you were able to read u would have been aware of the posts meaning..... Your reply is immature and dump.. let me guess ur the idiot

and of course most authors dont update their mods or give insufficient instructions on compatiblity.. asking for every detail is annoying and its a drag to download gigs for hours..

If it is proven that the files are stolen.. shame on him........or ist is just revenge?? For now i stick with my post....

@nieda113 you are some really special individual, the big dumbass retarded type. Revenge of what? CP was modding GTAseries when josh romito was still wondering his cock could get erected

The points you put are empty to a point of being stupid, the people saying senseless bullsh*t like "duh you dont own sh*t because its rockstarcode", you own the rights of the editing you did, the time and effort you used to make whatever rockstar did wrong better.

Then having that clear, you land into the question "what did the modder get?" The god damn satisfaction of people using and liking his "editing" work, the modder wont charge sh*t because despite everything its rockstar's code/plataform, but, that little block of text respectful people take the time to write called credits, is basicly the only god damn thing you have to do once you have permission to use a modder's work

Josh Romito gave 0 f*cks for anything related to respect, permissions and credits. He downloaded whatever crap he wanted to mix in his "mod pack", yes it isnt a mod...he didnt do sh*t for making it unique from scratch, he opened files made by other people and changed numbers here and there with pathetic hopes of people not checking the files and getting away with it.

Even more pathetic the fact that he didnt ask for permissions, he didnt only give 0 f*cks for crediting people, he never asked for permissions.

Yes, you ask permission to use files in modding communities, even if its rockstar work, you made a unique file that you uploaded under the authorship of your nickname.

So i will politely ask you to plug your god damn brain back on and start processing how modding works. Dont be a loose dumb childish guy taking all this only from "downloader" point of view and change sides with modder point of view, the hours of effort and editing and the willingness of releasing everything for free, just hoping for people to credit you and ask for permission for using your work...which Josh romito never cared to do
