@CeasarGuy

2. We strive for realism, but the vanilla sunsets are too red for us. At 7 p.m. (I guess the screenshot was made at this time) the sky isn't too much red. The colours in vanilla sunsets are suited for a later time of day (8 p.m.). We hope you understand us.

Would it be possible to release a version with sunsets/dawns only slightly altered? Or at least provide a guide on how to change them myself. Sunsets and dawns in GTA V are a big thing for me, since I always just get lost in the beauty of it even if it's not realistic. I really, really love it. So I hope you understand my stance here. I know it's quite a lot of changes, but again, I just love it too much to let it go (let it go, let it go...)

You can tweak your sunset/sunrise with ENB in-game editor as you can change the color of the sun (for robi29)

Hey does anyone know what I would be missing out on if I don't use the ENB?

I can use it but I lose about 7-10 fps.

Thanks

This mod is beautiful! I remember being impressed with the IV rendition.

Here are some shots I took earlier this afternoon.

gdmXoCml.png5UTYV9vl.png

lKkYX1el.pngNkebOu5l.png

Only problem is without the ENB, I get an almost flawless 60fps but it doesn't look like the above. With it, I get dips to about 40fps in certain parts. Could you tell me what the most hungry parts of the ENB are so I can lower them? I've turned off the MSAA options but I have a feeling it's to do with the reflections.

Otherwise, fantastic work! Keep it up.

@WastedEngland
MSAA fix is the most deamanding post FX effect in ENB. Try to lower the quality of the fix.

Turning off MSAA in the.txt helped, lowering some of the reflections gained a few fps as well. It turns out distance scaling was the main culprit.

Is it me or the shadow cascade hasn't been tweaked on the last update?

The new ambient occlusion seems to slightly flicker for some reason also.

EDIT: I also noticed a new 'Ultra' setting for shader. Did you add it? What does it do? :p

Okay, there is one, small step for the greatness of VisualV, get rid of awful shadow cascade box:

PIC REMOVED

I have a suggestion.

GTA V has some absolutely beautiful motion blur, but it only works if you hold the camera away from the default position.

[pic]

Is there any way you could make this motion blur work even when the camera isn't being moved?

I'll try to do something with that.

Can you fix the snow please and make it more blizzard looking? i somehow think this changed the snow and rain to look bad and really toned it down :(

@vithepunisher
Don't worry, we'll remade it from scratch too, but later.

The first shadow cascade is drawn a little further. AO can slightly flicker, but we'll fix it.

I don't know anything about "ultra" settings for shader.

Hello, you rise by some installer that automates the installation?

I just made a fresh installation of VisualV with no other mods, and the 'Ultra' settings for 'shader' seems to be added. Probably just a mistake when editing the pause menu?

I also noticed the shadow cascade distance has been set to 1.5 on the timecycles. Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't it be set to 2.5?

Higher values for shadow cascade make them worser than on stock values, shaders were made pretty badly.

@hexelbit

I'm sorry, I cannot rewrite shadow cascade, this is much more complicated than you think.

oh i know how complicated this must all be, the shadows with PCSS on look fine. Sometimes the crawling is noticable but i kinjda just put it out of my mind. What are ya working on next?

I use a shadow cascade setting of 3.0. Then I set soft shadows to softer instead of softest. A cascade setting of 1.0 and softest shadows seem to look the same as a cascade setting of 3.0 and softer shadows.

It seems to me that the latest patch made it possible to switch 3 graphics options from very high to ultra. Someone confirm?

eg. the quality of shading surface water quality.

We're currently working on all weathers. What's next? Don't know.

That's right, the first shadow cascade on foot doesn't look too bad, but in vehicles it loses much quality. I think the values shouldn't be above 2.0 to look good.

It's true. Shader, water quality and post FX I can set to ultra.

The better water reflections in incoming 1.0.050 revision (left - old, right - new):

These reflections don't cause performance drop.

Nice work there. Any chance you could do that with building window reflections?

Sweet update! This mod is becoming greater so fast.

I have a request, do you guys know if it would be possible to fix the low res night shadows?

Unfortunately it isn't possible.

Damn.

I was hoping that you could give vehicle, window, and rain puddle reflections the same treatment you gave the water. It would look great.

Some vanilla reflections are really bad, like lod ones seen on vehicles, or absolutely no peds, vehicles or any other dynamic objects reflected on the asphalt, this is really horrible. And that Rockstar call the ultimate graphic experience.

I don't know if I'm missing something or not...

But having ENB Activated makes me see all the "2DFX" lights in the map, through walls and buildings, ground etc..

(I believe it happens near dusk, night time seems fine)

Besides that, awesome looks.

OK, it does only happen when I change the Frame Scaling Mode (0.500-2.000-X.XXX)

Screens:

0.500x

2.000x

Using nVIDIA's DSR does not bring this issue, but the in game one does.
