I think you should use this (http://www.geocities.ws/xbdvdrg/blank.zip) file to replace the intro clip. It is completely empty single frame while your one is 2 secs long. Just suggesting, I mean.

This is really great ! Congrat ! A little too dark at night for me, as I use my SweetFX on it (LEVELS between 5-10)...btw could you tell me wich variables should I tweak for that (personnal use of course)

In "common/data/timecycle/w_extrasunny.xml" you should change the "light_natural_amb_down_intensity" variable. Remember that you should tweak it for two regions. "Global" and "urban", which is started in the middle of whole file.

What is the variable for shadow light level? Because shadows are too dark for my taste, as I like to actually see what is in the shadows even when I stand in the sun :p

Or is it the same?

The same variable :)

And, maybe you'll need "light_natural_amb_up_intensity" variable too. It's light from ground. The "light_natural_amb_down_intensity" is light from sky.

In my opinion, the names of these variables are inversely.

Also

Is it intentional? (I mean the sky, don't pay attention to the rest as I failed at making a screenshot) Looks kind of weird with such high color difference between clouds and the sky (made at 8p.m) if you ask me

It's strange, not intentional, because the extrasunny weather doesn't have any clouds. Do you use a trainer to control weather and time?

No, not at all. I even had an error that made me have to verify the game data and download the newest update manually in order to fix it, so I have no idea what might be the issue. In fact - this, along with scripthook and OpenIV.asi are the only modded files running in my GTA V right now.

Why do you not use mods manager, which are provided by OpenIV? Check it. Maybe your current manager doesn't load some important files from VisualV?

I use Mod Manager by Bilago (https://www.gta5-mods.com/tools/gtav-mod-manager), has similar method, I think. I use it because it's more user-friendly in my opinion. It shouldn't cause this issue as the file responsible for this can be what...clear weather timecycle or visualsettings I believe?

It could be clear weather or any other weather. We deleted clouds from extrasunny weather and I guess it's slightly bugged.

Will you look into this and release some fix, or will it be changed by version 1.0.020? ;)

I'd be really grateful as I can't really fix it myself. Other than that, I really love it.

Also, one more question! About this variable for shadows/night:

Do I have to increase it for every timecycle you've provided, or only specific one?

I've just spent about 2 hours on fix this bug, but I cannot. However don't worry, it requires more time.

You have to increase these variables in w_extrasunny.xml file only. Remember that you should tweak it for both regions and for 10pm (last value) and 12pm (first value).

Yes, in the next revision we'll implement other weather conditions (at least clear, smog, clouds weathers).

How does the mod affect performance? Is there any significant FPS drop?

Shouldn't be any difference as it only changes the color spectrum and in-game assets compared to ENB's which injects into the main game.

In w_extrasunny.xml file you should tweak the "sky_moon_disc_size" variable. The vanilla size of the moon is equal to 3. And again, remember that you should change variables for both regions and for all times of day.

Holy sh*t, so fast!

Thank you!

Alright, so couple of notes after trying it out. These are my opinions and should be treated as such.

1. There's barely any difference between Extra Sunny and Clear weather which I think is a mistake.

a481343b82.pngfdfcf60aa5.png

In my opinion Clear weather should be slightly different. It should have SOME clouds (not many, but few) and sky should be in slightly different shade of blue.

Also, the size of sun is the same in both weathers, giving it literally no sense in why one weather is lit up more than the other.

Oh, also. Have you noticed the change on car lights between the weathers? I think it may be a bug, or unintentional change, but you might want to fix it.

2. Sunsets. I'm sorry to say this, but stock GTA V sunsets were pretty much perfect. (Now I think of it, I didn't check dawns) Your sunsets are nice, but sadly they're nowhere near as good as stock GTA V sunsets which were just so damn beautiful that I don't think that they should be changed, at all (except for obvious things like fog and clouds).

(images taken at the same time, cloudy and clear weather)

81c4f0b3a5.png33ed810b34.png

3. Your ENB has weird thing with lights. I'd fix it myself and probably will, but not now when it's almost 1 a.m :p

I can send you my version of ENB and you may or may not include it if you want.

4. That's purely a minor thing, but I think the sky in extra sunny/clear weather could be a bit even more blue.

downtown-LA-buildings-01.jpg

Like in here. Good solution would be (if you decided to implement it) to change extra sunny to have the sky like in this picture, while clear weather would be as it is now, except with some nice clouds.

I think that's it. I really love the mod. The smog weather looks amazing. Exactly as it should. If anything else comes up, I'll let you know. Again, it's simply constructive criticism from my perspective. Don't take it to your heart too much <3

@Ceaser, I disagree with #2 I think the sunsets are much better. This is obviously subjective, in fact the mod itself is the artwork of CP and robi and should be up to them how they progress with it. I personally just like the art direction and chose to use it.

@VisualV devs, Are you guys interested in making the clouds any better? I would like to see some much better clouds if at all possible, I haven't succeed in making decent cloud textures because I'm no genius texture artist but I was hoping you guys could.

The clouds location are below, they use RG channels for the normals, (the light direction modulates the clouds colors based on this). And they use the alpha texture with a green background for the cloud shape itself. The current clouds look very weird and not very realistic.

You can find them here:

GTA V -> x64b.rpf -> levels -> gta5 -> cloudhats -> v_clouds.rpf

@CeasarGuy

1. It must be a mistake. 3D clouds sometimes appear after about 20 seconds. In Simple Native Trainer, if you lock the weather on "clear", clouds appear immediately. We totally abandon 2D clouds in some weathers (especially in "clear" weather).

2. We strive for realism, but the vanilla sunsets are too red for us. At 7 p.m. (I guess the screenshot was made at this time) the sky isn't too much red. The colours in vanilla sunsets are suited for a later time of day (8 p.m.). We hope you understand us.

3. Yes, you can. We'll gladly test it.

4. It looks very interesting. Maybe we'll implement it for extrasunny weather only.

@willywill

Currently we are working on the 3D clouds on "clear" and "smog" weather. For now we'll change their colours. Maybe one day we'll do new textures. I don't know, it looks very complicated.

Would it be possible to release a version with sunsets/dawns only slightly altered? Or at least provide a guide on how to change them myself. Sunsets and dawns in GTA V are a big thing for me, since I always just get lost in the beauty of it even if it's not realistic. I really, really love it. So I hope you understand my stance here. I know it's quite a lot of changes, but again, I just love it too much to let it go (let it go, let it go...)

We'll must release each revision with different sunsets and sunrises, so in the long run, it will become tiresome.

You can change it in timecycles files. The variables what you need are "sky_azimuth_east_col", "sky_azimuth_west_col" and "sky_sun_col".

Some screenshots with improved sky and clouds:

so if I copy + paste stock values, I'm good to go? Damn, I thought it requires more than that.

It should works, but the sky may be too bright or too dark. Then you should properly decrease or increase values.

Hey robi29,

Your last screenshots with improved sky and clouds are very realisitc. Actually the most realistic I've seen so far.

I'll eventually play the freaking game with your next update of VisualV.

Thanks for the hard work
