Feeling pretty sad.

I was the bearer of the Paris Tragedy news to GTAF, though when I've made the OP I couldn't slightly imagine the dimension that this tragic event achieved later on.

Even weirder since just before it happened, I've met a great friend of mine for dinner after about 2yrs apart, he happens to be French with several relatives in Paris...

 

F*ck 2015 Nov's Friday the 13th.

 

RIP to all those lost souls.

I was thinking of saying something on my mind in that "Paris" thread but I took a peek before and thought better of it. I'd be an unpopular opinion, sometimes it's better just to keep things to myself.

 

In fact I have a lot of opinions about a lot of controversial subjects but if I voiced any of them I'd be ridiculed and have all sorts of insults thrown at me, called ignorant and stupid, but I'm not really.

 

I don't think many people are as open minded as they claim to be.

They didnt do it solely because they were muslim and immigration alone does not lead to these kind of attacks

Makes me kinda sad when the lefts first reaction to the attack was "let's not blame Islam"...so much damage control. I agree with that message though, I'd be scared if I was a Muslim living in Paris too.

Because the reactionary followers of "the right" need to be reminded every damn time that anything happens (that threatens their safety bubble of blissful ignorance) that their entitled opinions do not mean more if they shout louder.

 

Putting 'justifying perverse personal xenophobic confirmation biases' aside, is there a compelling reason to pin the blame solely on Islam? It's delusional and reductionist and based on denying them the right to a cultivated and superior sense of 'humanity' that the right seem to think 'we' have a monopoly on - they need to believe that we (as humans) are so far from other animals and 'they' are much closer (to say their actions do not represent the human condition), all just so that you can be safe inside a blissful bubble of ignorance and continue to believe that the world is nice or that your own God actually exists and 'they are bad people' is the excuse for your own God's inaction. No way that your own God could be bad, or that you yourself could be bad; you'll just filter that sh*t out and keep on smiling.

I may or may not have gotten hired. I filled out some pre-employment paperwork, and he said he'll call me to come in. So it seems like I got hired, but the guy barely interviewed me. Regardless if I did get hired im excited, there's been some things I've been meaning to buy for AGES. Like some new clothes for example.

I wonder how many messages/e-mails my old G-Mail would have racked. Lost the password and couldn't figure out how to get in so I just gave up and switched to my "newish" just-in-case GMail account.

 

Not that it matters. I only use GMail for 'unlocking' accounts from different sites - this account being one of them - and as a way to stay up-to-date with any thread I'm following in this site. Other than that I have no reason to have GMail.

Well, to be honest, if I were badly hurt in a terror attack like this only to stumble upon thousands of profile pics covered with the flag of my country, I wouldn't feel too much better.
