I want one!

*awful "hoverboard"*

What a pointless hunk of sh*t this thing is.

Well it's cool that they can make this kind of stuff, but frankly I don't see why would you want this if you're not into skateboarding already. It hovers practically as low as a skateboard.

Kinda flirted with my coworker and got her number. Slightly excited, yet mildly terrified of what'll happen next

But, if made on a larger scale it could replace the hovercraft....

In no way could that happen, please do a little research on how this thing actually works before posting any more silly sh*t.

I've been skating since I was like 4, and that's why this thing is such a disappointment.

It it was actually usable, it would be pretty awesome, and the idea is really interesting, but the way it works severely limits it's usability, and an actual skateboard with wheels is actually usable (you can turn, you don't have to be on a metal surface or a surface with metal embedded in it, so any hard surface will work with an actual skateboard), and as such, tons more fun.

If you have no idea what I mean, then research the thing to see how it works, see it's capabilities (few) and see it's drawbacks (many).

Cool idea, ultimately useless.

I dont see how you could do anything big on the hoverboard, no big gaps, no big stairs, heck im not sure if you could do small stairs or gaps..too me the hoverboard is cool but along the lines of a longboard, just something to cruise on.

You think Tuborg is great. Your opinion is irrelevant.

Desperados is pretty good, but I feel mildly racist whenever I drink it.

* because it is cheap

Really I love beer, but can't afford the good sh*t like Nøgne Ø. Tuborg tastes perfectly alright and only costs a buck fiddy.

Mr. Scratch

You should try different beers then. Holsten, hell, even Carlsberg is better than Tuborg and about the same price.

I pay nearly £40 a month for the water bill (f*cking rip off- most hated bill after the T.V licence) and they've found a parasite in it in the Lancashire area of England. I had to be in the part of Lancashire affected by it :( f*ck you. I have to boil water for my dog now until further notice, so more for electric too.

lowkey freaked tf out because a huge ass spider ran in front of me when i got up to go to bed.

i cant sleep now. feeling itchy, paranoid and got the creepy crawlies. :panic:

Relax, usually you won't even see them coming, they're everywhere!

That didn't help, did it?

No, not really ahaha.

I went upstairs and grabbed some bug spray and sprayed around the room before I went to bed so it's probably dead by now.

Holsten Pils is quality to be fair.

@Marwin: Do you like any real ales mate? Newcastle is good too.

Maccabee 7.9% is great but I haven't seen it outside of the Glorious and Singular Jewish State.

The government has a monopoly on all alcoholic beverages with an alcohol content greater than 4.7 % abv. You can only buy stronger stuff at the aptly titled "Wine monopoly" (except of course buying drinks at licensed bars) and the ale selection in this city's Wine Monopoly isn't very good. Going to a WM feels like such an ordeal that I rarely do it. Combine that with a monthly income of around 400 quid and I can't really afford alcohol either(very high alcohol taxes as well), so a visit would be rare. If I do get some unexpected disposable income, I'll go and ask if they have any real ale. If you have anything to recommend, both >4.7 and ~4.7 %, that'd be great. I've been hired by the downtown blues club to do some keys work, so I'll land some extra cash which might go to some nice beers and food.

Well Henry Weston's is pretty good as far as ciders go. The proper stuff you can only get from the pubs round here (went to this pub with some family friends and stumbled on this cider that was basically rocket fuel).

I get what you mean about being strapped for cash mate, generally I can't afford anything decent. Desperados is nice but that's only a treat. Generally I'll get Zubr, which is strong but smooth. Really cheap where I work as well, but not so in Norway I bet.

OT:

Give me a year and I'll give you all I'm worth.

Judah Macabee, Herzl, Ben Gurion. HaShem above. Give me a year.

Zubr is a Polish beer mate, quality stuff. I imagine they'll have it up in the Nordic heartlands.

Not even that though, it only goes in a line, no way to actually turn, which is one of the most unfortunate aspects.

Any viable system used for turning that I've heard suggested or could imagine myself always has some sort of drawback making it unusable, either because it would be too unreliable, too heavy, wouldn't provide enough power, too complicated etc.

I'm definitely not saying it will never happen, I for sure hope it does during my lifetime, hopefully while I still have the use of my legs.

That said, scaling up something like this for a vehicle like a train would be incredible, I always thought any sort of levitation is so fascinating.

Well there are Mag-Lev Trains in operation. That's pretty cool in my opinion. :)

Oh yeah, they are definitely awesome, some are ridiculously fast.

I think I've read about some having problems, which is unfortunate, but the designs always progress, so over time I'm sure we'll see more efficiency and better safety, perhaps something like the idea behind the hoverboard could provide that eventually.

Or maybe not.

Or maybe something else entirely will be used.

Maybe this thing called the Hoverboard will use this old fangled invention called Wheels, and be called something like the Skateboard. :p
