Feeling somewhat better the pain in my hip is starting to subside and i'm able to sit up for much longer than before but i finally got Assurane & Verizon to replace my phone after fighting with them for 2 weeks to replace my broken phone and being without a phone for 2 weeks so i don't know who's calls i've missed or anything if i missed anything importance i'm going to be super pissed.

I'm showing my son Star Wars for the first time today. He's pretty into it which is awesome, but now that I'm looking at it with kind of a "first look" perspective (but with all the knowledge of having seen them all a million times) I just saw something very odd... why the hell does "Old Ben Kenobi" wear the full Jedi outfit when he is in hiding as a secret Jedi?? I would imagine, as the Jedi lasted for what, thirty-six thousand years or so before the Battle of Yavin? Yet, he "hides" in his old uniform? It would be like a Nazi going around in their Class A's after WWII... not comparing the two, just distinctive outfits.

Well, there's three "schools of thought" on this;

A) it's a continuity error by Lucas(which is quite common, as we all know)

B) Those aren't his Jedi robes but merely a common outfit for Tatoonie due to the desert environment

C) Those ARE his Jedi robes and he's wears them out of necessity due to not having anything else.

 

I'd say it's a mix of A and B myself, meaning that the robes are common Tatoonie outfit, then Lucas f*cked up the continuity by making the Jedi in the prequels, 20 or so years prior, wear identical(for the most part) robes.

 

On-Topic: I feel it's pretty awesome to expose your kid to SW and be able to share that experience with him, wish I could've done the same with my father.

 

 

But I know you're just gonna ruin it with all that Trek you plan on exposing him too....
