So how bout them feels.

I might try some deep sea fishing soon, this is something I'm really excited about. I'll get to be on a boat out in the ocean and sh*t, which sounds a lot more fun than standing in a creek catching stupid Sunnys all day. This should be a lot of fun. =)

unless you get motion sickness like i do :(

I have done this far too few times in my life. Best catch was a mahi-mahi. Super fun.

I remember it being way bigger. Har.

I will make you two wrestle in a kiddiepool full of creamed corn.

How is that a bad thing?

I got a few bottles of Wild Turkey Rare Breed from work as we ordered too much and am now debating whether I should keep them or sell them at more than shelf price.

Use some to for make bourbon vanilla extract and keep the rest to drink (I always have some decent bourbon stocked in my bar).

Nice nipple ring, Otter. What happened to the other one, hook snag it? =P

That's a really good catch though, especially compared to what I'm used to getting. Really can't wait to see what cool stuff I catch out there. =)

Hmm, might have to give that a try. Not sure how I feel about using top shelf bourbon to get it though.

Wild Turkey isn't top shelf, son. Rare Breed or otherwise.

if you go by the average drinker's idea of top shelf it is.

Beats watering down your drinks and selling them as something else like quite a few places still do.

Friends and family ain't worth dick if you ain't happy.

Friends and family are the people who make you happy though.

Well yeah my point was that if they don't contribute to making you happy then they ain't much use.

You're responsible for your own happiness. That is assuming you're not a child.

We can't pick our family and we're not all born to see eye to eye even in an ideal world. No idea about the context or your circumstances, but like Scratch said, you might be able to make things better on your own and/or with friends.

They can just as well make you miserable. Actually it`s you harming yourself if you`re around such people. I`m not saying that sometimes you shouldn`t change yourself, but sometimes you need to change the people you deal with.

Some people you can't change, and until you're old enough to move out you don't have much of a choice when it comes to who you live with.

What I meant by "family" is your wife, and even kids. But the same works for parents and siblings, of course. The first thing to try is to reconcile things, but plan B should be to pick up and set sail, because no one benefits from a hostile relationship, especially your kids.

Well I can't give you any advice about that. Yeah, maybe ask my deadbeat dad instead.

My deadbeat dad is actually dead; at least he's got an excuse now. Heyo!

But seriously... if you have kids, spend time with 'em. I know I probably wont. :(

I'll spend time with your kids.

If you mail them to me please remember to put some lettuce in there and poke holes in the box. Thanks.

Why's that? You got bigger fish to fry?

I have weird struggles staying in touch with my family. Surprise surprise, I probably get it from dad.

I imagine things'll be a lot different when I actually do have kids, but I'm just getting more and more unavailable to people the older I get. Unless we work together.

My father never really spent time with me, and I'm sure I'm in the same situation as many others around here. He constantly yelled at me even when I did good things. I'll never understand what his issue is.. We still don't get along even though we've both been through a lot.. but if you do kids please don't treat 'em like sh*t. Don't be that one guy who neglects his children. At least try :^:

My parents broke up when I was pretty young and I stayed with my mom. My dad's a cool dude, but I just haven't really broken the ice with him. I'm not really a too social person in general anyways.

My dad died in a plane crash when I was 14. I remember storming out of the house in the morning angry at him because he asked if I had brushed my teeth... the nerve. Came home and my mom was panicing, people were over, my grandparents had left their house in St. Louis to come support us... this was 330ish, my dad was due back at 10 am and even at this early time everyone knew something bad had happened. We were lucky, some hikers found the wreckage quickly so we knew before the sun went down that he was dead and his body was in custody. When we got the news, couldn't have been much past 430, my 10 year old sister started screaming "it's not true! It's not true!" I was so angry at her. I remember wanting to shake her and just yell at her to shut up, because it WAS true, stop f*cking screaming!

Instead I ran into the guest room. I don't remember much of the rest of that day, except for sitting in the garage doorway when my uncle (mom's sister's husband, not my dad's brother)drove up in my dad's 1984 Toyota 4Runner(or '86? it was the first year they made one...) after picking it up from the airport. For 10 seconds I saw my dad pulling in. I saw his face clearly on the man who was driving his car into the garage and when he got out and was my uncle, not my dad, it truly hit me for the first time.

Most of you know I have a son. I grew up, learned to be a man, without a male influence, without a man to ask all the important questions(thank god for late night LoveLine shows)and I am making it my life's goal to be there for my son where my dad wasn't able to be there for me. Many others have had similar experiances, or one of their parents weren't able to be there for them... it's the most heartbreaking when it's due to a lack of willing involvement.

...

I don't know why the f*ck I just typed all that sh*t on my phone. Please excuse any typos and just take that for what it is. Words... from a stoned man who often misses his daddy.

Average white guy

I feel great. The air is warm, leaves are growing on trees again and I've already had to mow the lawn twice. That and I can finally cruise with the windows rolled down and work on my 'trucker arm' again. Spring is awesome.

Wrong. all you gotta do is make your way to foster care, then you can pick your family based on the way you act lol

Uh, yeah, no. It's closer to meth in terms of actual chemical structure.
