Using only my Pistol up until I picked up a Remington... f*ck it, im honestly one of those people who are too damn good this was the song I was listening to while doing it... I sh*t you not... and not only that, I was playing it over the headset as loud as I could... I feel bad for the people who had to suffer through that while getting anally violated by a buckshot suppository... uploading clip later... Are you sure this wasn't you? N7Operative84
Speaking for myself, I never really liked any COD after Call of Duty 4 aka Modern Warfare. Call Of Duty 4 nailed it. It had a well placed single player and a amazing balanced multiplayer, even when you consider the M16. It was all about the gun on gun gameplay. Everything about this game is/ was consistent. Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer had too many kill steaks that were too powerful. The majority the maps were lame. It was nothing camper heaven, so they can get their kill steaks. It was more of Modern Warfare 2: First Person air support. Lets not get started on the perks of : One mad army, noob tubes, akimbo and more. Overall, it was too broken for me to enjoy. I thought World At War was ok, but I DISLIKE vehicles in most first person shooters. Also, I wasn't a fan of the map design. The single player was descent. I enjoyed the whole storyline was co-op enabled. I got my PS4, a month ago and got Advance Warfare , 2 weeks ago and massively dislike it. I bought into the hype and wasted $60. The lag is massive and the deaths come in a instant. Whereas, I light up enemies like a Christmas tree, they would often get away scott free. Most of the time, they often melt me with two shots. In COD4 at least it was consistent where it took around 4-5 time to bring someone down, even with stopping power. The single player was lame, in Advanced Warfare. Seriously, why in the hell should I have to wait for 2 minutes or more of dialogue before I can play a mission? It gets the point were I am watching the character talk more than I play the game. I am going to get as many trophies as a I can before I delete it from my hard drive. I am really pissed off I bought Advanced Warfare as a digital purchase, so I can't trade it in. To me Sledgehammer games is just as bad a Tryarch COD. All they do is just rehash what Infinity ward did from the last game, with a new skin and slight improvements. Sledgehammer games = lame I've only played the demo version of COD ghosts, and I thought it was ok, but the maps were far to large. I've never played any of the Black Ops series. As I mention, above, I am not a fan of Tryarch 's COD games. Sledgehammer's AW is a disaster in my opinion. At this point, I am done with COD. More so , when you consider the two brains behind COD4 are gone from Infinity Ward. You can tell how badly the series has done , without them starting with COD MW2. /end rant. World at War is a Treyarch call of duty game... you kinda contradicted yourself when you said Treyarch develped COD's are bad and yet you praise WaW for being pretty good except for the vehicles... not sure where your hate for 3ARC comes from, but hey. too each their own
N7Operative84
I didn't contradict myself. COD4 and World At World, may share the core gameplay, but the principles of design changed, which to me made it worse than COD4. For me, the map design in multiplayer is extremely important. If a FPS doesn't have good maps, then I am not interested at all in playing multiplayer among other things. World At War doesn't have any good maps , in my opinion. The maps in WAW were to large. Large maps for COD games, makes the game feel like hide and go seek on a grand scale. The massive camping aspect in COD started in WAW. In COD4, the maps were small enough to counter attack and flack, effectively . COD4 maps were small to medium, that is what made it good. Sure you had to look for enemies in COD4, but not to hard like in post COD4 games. Along with the gameplay, the maps are what sets COD4's above and beyond all others. The maps in Modern Warfare 2 , World At World, Ghosts, and Advanced Warfare(the COD games I've played), to me are very poorly created. ADropInTheOcean
As a huge science fiction and cyberpunk fan, I don't mind a futuristic setting at all, as long as it's done right. With that said, none of the Call of Duty games since Black Ops II have had a minimally credible or creative futuristic vision, all of them consist of a bunch of clichés slapped together. There is no unique defining aesthetic other than an annoyingly exaggerated use of orange and light brown. In my honest opinion the last great Call of Duty was the first Black Ops: if something, the multiplayer felt a little incoherent in terms of balance (the bigger maps allow for a slightly more strategic gameplay but the dispersion between weapon stats make only a few useful for combat), but the Cold War setting and the trippy storyline were brilliant, and the zombie mode is my favorite in the series. Haven't bought any other game in the series since BOII, and for all I know about this one you can bet I'm avoiding it like the plague. X S
What's interesting to me isn't that COD is showing some decline, but that CS:GO is perpetually increasing in relation. I guess Activision will be forced to go back to the modern era or even WWII if they wanna just copy and paste to remain relevant w/ CS:GO's growing popularity. I mean that's the trend, right? See a successful FPS, steal everything and run with it.

Colognenigguh
True I also was a fan of the franchise since Black Ops 1 which is still my favorite COD . And I also own Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, Black Ops 2 and I played Modern Warfare 1 for a while. Black Ops 2 had its flaws but all in all was a fun game especially with the dope score streaks. Many said the COD series are gettin worse since MW3 but I personally could enjoy MW3 and Black Ops 2 . BUT then ghost came which had those huge maps and killstreaks that where totally ass. I dont even wanna talk about Advanced Warfare although it was aight and innovative it didnt had that COD feel at all. Black Ops 3 was my last last hope but now that I have sawn the trailer I have to agree the franchise is dead. It just looks like AW but even more futuristic and even worse. J-B
CoD is so popular because it appeals more to "casual gamers"(I hate that f*cking term). The 9-5 Average Joe that maybe only has an hour each night to play games. CoD is simple enough that he/she can learn it quickly and enjoy it. Really, the only way CoD will die is if they make the core gameplay too complex. Edited May 23, 2015 by J-B

Dottie
Interesting to see in those COD interest graphs a huge spike each year, then relatively low interest soon after the game release. COD gets overhyped as hell, all the kiddies buy it, then bitch about it a month later I dont see how people can shell out $60+ for COD every..... Single.... Year.. which is what the graphs clearly show I have friends on xbox who constantly complain that the game is garbage, yet still buys the next one. I tried to get them off the COD bandwagon, but it looks like they'll have to hop off on their own Payne Killer

Karls
I occasionally play CoD 1-4, including Finest Hour, Big Red one and Roads To Victory, and I promise you BO3 will never pass them.
