First I dont wont to be fool and look like gta player from the first gta.This goes to all IVs fans that saying V suck.The gtas is not always about killing stealing and punching, the humor and criticism to the common American life you can find in the gta series are outstanding from pedestrians dialogues, stupid radio shows and cable tv to billboards, are good and funny to hear and see this is why I love the goddamnn rockstar because they dont give a f*ck to anyone and still doing what they want.And this is the problem about the gtas ,that they sell for completely another reason and if YOU are buying it for the reasons that "famous" stupid youtubers buy it then screw you ,you dont deserve to have it and you dont see the full potential of the game and the work of the rockstar that put on it. My first game of the series was the famous gta sa I remember myself getting excited for the gta iv and also remember myself saying that sucks compared to my old love the gta sa.Every gta has something unique about it and till now the gta v is near to perfection,as for the stupid people that say tha the gta iv "was better"is a human f*cking instinct. You get used to something and being "addict" to it, if something changes you say it bullsh*t the same thing happened before (gta sa vs gta iv) the same happens now (gta iv vs gta v) and the same will be happening until the gtas stop ,same thing happens to retro gaming.We lived and still living a decade that cinematic games was hyped and overwhelming criticized from the gaming industry so yea gta v is best game till now and the next gta will be better than gta v.But we will always remember something special about every gta.

Yes.

In a few years, when VI will be released (hopefully), people will say that V is a better game and VI is not a proper GTA. They'll compare them, just like they do now with V and IV. Heck,even in 2002, when VC was released, some people hated it for being 'different from III', there were even topics on GTAF talking about it, back then. But, if you say that Vice City is not a proper GTA nowdays, people will see you as either a noob or a troll. Same could happen to V in a few years.

Nostalgia plays a big factor on people's opinion. GTA games will be seen better and better as the time goes by.

People were over hyped about V, and we all know that being over hyped will cause disappointment later on.

Same thing will happen to VI and to any future GTA title. It happened with IV too. A few years ago, people hated the annoying calls from roman, the boat-like handling, the smaller world,etc. They hated IV's story.They hated IV as a whole. Now, they are praising them and whoever says 'GTA IV sucks' will be seen as a troll (or a noob).

Every GTA is a Mirror of ourselves and our culture... even the early ones

 

GTA 1 - While not as interactive as the modern GTAs, it still gave us an escape from reality in its dramatic crime fest and truly created the open world genre aswell as set the bar for all open world games at that time. The cities themselves were massive and while lacking any actual interactivity, allowed you to explore recreations of real life cities to your hearts content. Also the radio stations really immersed you into the game, despite only being composed of 3 or so songs and a few DJ quips. even now, if you played it you will get the whole 90s vibe from it.

 

GTA 2 - This was where the over the top gameplay and snarky, suggestive humor that we see as a pinnacle of rockstar truly came into fruition. Graphically, this game was gorgeous, especially for a 2.5D game. The Comedic radio stations really set the scenery of an industrial dystopian future where the evil Zaibatsu corporation ruled with an iron fist and the various gimmicky street gangs waged all out war with eachother.

The problem with Gta V for me wasnt so much the game itself but the hype behind it

everybody was going around saying it was the game of the decade and all the reviews gave it a 10/10

and when i actually bought it i was let down

 

With that being said aldo i like the earlier games better and this is my least favourite i still think its a good game

Actually I agree with the original poster that I was stupid for pre-ordering this POS, but I`ll never pre-order any GTA title again because then they can just make it as sh*t as they want. Also your "Online has been a part of GTA from day 1" comment is a complete lie, it took two weeks for the Online to become available when V was released, but anyway it`s obvious that it`s the priority now due to people like you who prefer Tony Hawk and unknown games to GTA and play mostly for the Online. The contempt I feel for you has no words.

I agree with the online thing and i remeber it.But i see that you didint understand my post.I dont said that gta v was crap sure it had some weak points and still but what game was perfect? .I tried to explain why we are nostalgic f*cks and why there is the negative critics about the game and the wrong idea that "gamers" have about gtas.As for the pre order i am sorry to hear that you were dissapointed from the game but you should know that the pre order as a term is supid too.

SA was epic, the casino, the desert airfield, the sheer size of the map.

and in V the Bicycle is back! yeah!! Im loving it, I even use the Kb.

try 'campfire kills' on the bicycle: bunny hop into people around a campfire on the beach and see how many get knocked into the fire an burn. I know, Im sick, but that's typical GTA, just screwing around roaming, an it just happen, I didn't read about it or nothing.

in this version I was laughing sooo hard when I figured out how to flip people off and then wait for them to chase me in the car, dragging them when they grab the door handle. theyre all great, and no, sadly few people ever really realize or appreciate the full depth and complexity in one of these games. You're entitled to your own opinion so I'm sorry that I think GTA IV is a better game than V. I'll be the first to admit I used to bash hard on V but tbh, it really did disappoint me. I don't see it as a bad game or even a bad GTA game. I now see it as a decent GTA game and a mediocre game in general. Still better than half of the games on the market, it's just not my cup of tea. I prefer IV and there's nothing wrong with that. I'm not gonna bullsh*t you and try to say V doesn't have any good features cause it does. Car and weapon customization, more variety in types of vehicles and the better cover system all would have made IV an even better game. But at the end of the day, I prefer IV to V any day. Not gonna lie, V is not even in my top 5 GTA games and nowhere near making it into my top 5 games but it's not a bad game. Just meh in my opinion. I can pick it up and play and not want to kill myself but nothing really excites me in the game.

 

Now, after saying that, I can firmly say GTA Online is a whole other story. f*ck GTA Online, one of the worst online experiences I've had in recent history.

Thats cool bro we dont criticize someone here we are just expressing our ourselves about it.The nostalgia always affect things i still play gta sa and I personally prefer it over the iv cause of my childhood memories ,gta iv for me the iv was really good too when it came out and we will always remember the atmosphere of the game.If people from another planets ask wtf the humans playing on the earth the gta v is the game that we will send.Because this is gta. I dont wont to say that gta v has better story or better mechanics or is better on something else because this is stupid,but the compination that every gta has is just so good,every gta will written in our memories for that special something for some people will be the 80s style for others the 90s atmosphere for some other people the early 2000 and others the late 2000s or the stories that every one of them have and last and and more important the fun you have playing them yourself or with brothers and friends.

Gta captures and criticize with his fun humor every stage of our life and this is funny. Just take a closer and look to the spectacular worlds that rockstar made and you will find them.

Yeah, we could be doing a lot worse, like when IV came out because that's also "a low key in the series", since it got way more criticism than V is getting. That being said, IV gets a lot of praise now that it's not the newest game anymore, and I seriously don't doubt that the same thing will happen to V once the next GTA is out.

 

At the end it's all just opinions anyway, but some people here simply think they need to talk for everyone else to justify their sentiments.

@Thegreekman99 :Well my friend i do like V very much,but the shortness and the lack of development of franklin,i won't blame that to rockstar,never,here i said it,never,why?,because if those people actually finished iv (the citiczen kane of gaming) and played the poorly designed (and not fun to be honest) things in the game like drug dealing and other things,maybe rockstar could have made the story longer,and added the the "Crime" that everybody have been complained about,but they themselves didn't finish the storyline,then how about the side activities back in 2008 and 2009,so simply rockstar responded to them,and now they are saying it's no gta without it,bullsh*t you still had crime in gta V,and they were in iv just for the sake of being there nothing else,how could they miss something that was poorly designed in the first place?i don't get it,and i do like the story of V,not like iv of course,but for a short story and 3 protagonists,it impressed me in many ways,sure it has it issues like i mentioned before,i just hope something happened to gta v in the future to fix these things,i hate how they say gta v suck,but they are going to put countless of hours in it and only in the sp,and when it comes to what they have done,they say nothing except yoga,look at the bullsh*t that coming out from their mouse,just like the guy above me saying jetpack is better than yoga (as there nothing to do in the game except yoga),look how people don't b*tch about gta iv having nothing to do in it,except the poorly designed stuff,that they are pretending to be fun till this date,imagine that,they are hypocrite,i'm not afraid to say it,because it seems pretty damn true.

Yeah yeah yeah,that's why i said it's funny to me,not you,and the previous one had also this kind of humor,stop f*cking fooling yourself,you had lakes in iv in the shape of a penis,you had lots and lots of dirty jokes everywhere,you even had the number 69 in lots of places around the game,see even the number,even in sa had worse than that,i remember an ice cream vehicle has the top of it,ice cream in the shape of a penis,why people suddenly acts like it's something new the series,why people think it was funny back then the penis and dirty jokes,but not funny in V,why?.....wasn't ever this bad my as*.....you just made me laugh.
