PhillBellic
Hove Beach can be a pretty crazy area. I also find it fascinating and beautiful, as weird as that may sound. With the subway tracks above your head, and the constant flow of traffic, it's almost like real life New York City. I concur. Hove Beach certainly had lots of Love given to it. albanyave, Pedinhuh, spider91 and 1 other

GTA IV's Liberty City is easily the best video game representation of New York City. It always amazes me how it looks nearly life like in conjunction with NYC. Judicious 7
Taking the subway around the city. Or while you're inside a taxi cab, flick the analog stick up so you see the height of the skyscrapers. spider91, Payne Killer and Zello
albanyave
The entire game is immersive. One mission that really pulled me in was "Shadow". I did this mission at night and driving into Bohan, knowing what was at stake was a total hold your breath moment. When I started following the drug dealer, the entire time of the tail I was eyes wide. That phone call from Roman came unexpectedly and that was so real world. SanFierroTriad
Playing the game without the HUD or radar, no auto aiming and simple targeting turned on. That's all you need. It's like you're watching a movie. theGTAking101

As good as Liberty City is, it has aged, and it is a condensed world. Eventually, we might have game worlds comparable to full sized cities...with the graphics to support it, imagine Liberty City fully created the same size as New York. Pedinhuh
Taking the subway or taxis and switching to first person view, also walking around Hove Beach in the beggining of the game Hostile Negotiation, Tunnel of Death and the final missions. It just sucks you soo much in, you can't have enough. Edited January 25, 2016 by pedinhuh Xiled, spider91 and Payne Killer

Okay I think that's a bit unrealistic. A GTA level detailed city the size of a real city? I honestly don't think that will/can ever happen. You're talking hundreds of square miles of blocks and suburbia when all of GTA's 3D cities together add up to a couple tens of square miles. I know lol, i'm just dreaming. But even in my dreams I would cut down on the repetitive housing, isn't that why Staten Island isn't in IV?
Xiled
I wish they would have used Staten Island instead of Jersey. Not many unique landmarks there. Feels like they needed another island after Algonquin, Broker, and Dukes.

Feels like they needed another island after Algonquin, Broker, and Dukes. Definitely agree. I really wanted a complete NYC from Liberty City, not just 4/5 boroughs. It just bothers me that they only recreated four of the five boroughs and left Staten Island out because it was "boring".
razorsharkhead
that one mission when Romans house and business got burnt down was the most immersed ive ever been in a video game. The Tracker
