Omina
It isn't supposed to be this way, but I used to be able to launch GTA V just fine. I had to disable my GPU to initiate the launcher then enable it again when it first came out. Then Rockstar released a patch to fix that, and I could launch it normally. I haven't launched it in a while which is obviously a huge mistake of mine, because now it simply won't launch at all. Opens, closes, few spins of the cursor, nothing. What do I do? CheatingSoi
I hate this kind of thing. I was just thinking this the other day. I feel like my games always stop working with age. And it's always so dumb because it shouldn't happen. My game stopped working the other day for no reason at all. Always worked fine since launch. As for your issue. Maybe I'd try reinstalling it. That didn't work for me but maybe it would for you. Or delete your settings in your documents folder for the game.
Omina
It's probably the new patch. I'm going to try see if I can install the patch manually since that seems to be what it tried to do when it first started. I deleted my settings but that didn't make any difference. I'm not going to reinstall a game that took 7 discs to install + a whole day of downloading the other 5GB - it's just too much to fix a simple issue. Probably not worth it either given how it didn't work for you. EDIT: I fixed it by trying to reinstall Social Club, then installing it completely again after trial and error when it deleted the installation (not the game, social club) For future reference: 1. Go to C:/Program Files/Rockstar Games and delete the Social Club folder 2. Download the manual installation here: https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/200146066-Manual-Link-to-Social-Club-Application-Download 3. Open that up and let it install - it will install a fresh variant of the launcher that GTA V uses to download and install patches Then disable your GPU and launch the game - if it works enable it again.
