Having a long wheelbase is not a good trait for an off-road vehicle.

 

 

This is not correct. A long wheelbase can be bad in certain situations, but a short wheelbase is not always the best thing either.

 

It depends on many factors, from intended use (mud, trails, sand, rocks, etc), the extremity of the use (casual trail rides vs say Top Truck Challenge), how big of a lift/tires you are planning putting on the truck (short wheelbase makes for steeper driveline angles in short wheelbase trucks), to various other technical details and the way those affect other aspects.

 

Also you can't know whether or not it was intended to have 4WD or not unless you were a developer on the vehicle team. Sure it wasn't 4WD at first but they changed that with a patch like they do with many other unintended glitches, so that's a toss-up. Yeah, it doesn't have a front driveshaft, but it does have a front differential casing, so it's a toss-up there too.

My Interactions with that vehicle were not pleasant.

 

Also try offroading with a Dune Buggy. It's near impossible to do so if it involves any rocks. Too bad considering the class it's in...

Dubsta 6x6 / Insurgent / Sandking / Bifta among a number of others all top the Dune Buggy in terms of overall performance.

 

My Interactions with that vehicle were not pleasant.

Bifta probably (although I hate it) try to race the rest of them in an off road track, and you'll see. Dune Buggy's very nimble.
