Hi,

Sorry if this is a stupid Q.

I just got GTAV and tried online which is a blast.

However, I have trouble finding friends to play with so I thought I might play the offline version story mode.

What is missing in GTAV story mode compared to online? Excludning multiplayer of course!

After the sotry finishes, can I continue playing and doing random missions as in online?

Does story mode have all the cars, mods and apartments?

Story is neat, but after you finish it, it gets pretty boring.

In GTAO, you'll always have things to do, and it feels more alive. Obviously, cause there are more people in the session.

I also play alone...barely have friends to play with.

I'm afraid GTAO has some different and exclusive stuff. Such as vehicles, properties, pretty unique missions here and there ( for example - a mission that involves hacking a mansion gate... ) , and a much broader character customization.

* I must state that there is no wildlife in the online version.

I would have loved that :

- GTA Online is a real extension of GTA V, where we could play a character (our) entering in the organized crime (grand theft auto, and robberies), much like Franklin finally.
Only for certain missions at first, the other missions in co-op missions and then do the "major" missions with group / clan.

- where GTAV and GTA online will be "one thing", with the possibility to play some story missions (or news) & random events offline or online (as we have on Test Drive Unlimited for example) with OUR character, with some mission feasible only in coop or team.
Even if Rockstar has tried to convince us that GTAV and Online are the same world (with our character visible in the character switch), and then, to give us the impression that GTA V is linked to the Online (only bound by the game files), the reality and when I reach the Online, for me, I feel back to Los Santos but in another dimension.
I don't feel the same feelling than in the story mode, with this feeling of emptiness.

But really, GTA Online allows to have some fun time (or bad time) with other players in free roam, ant to compete against other players on all hobbies and pastimes essentially (with new apartments, and other new stuffs, where we also can see some PNJ from the Story supposed to give us new missions, while it's just some cinematics and presentation).
There are some missions where we need to steal some vehicles(for example), but it's very limited, and not very fun (much less fun than in Story mode) except when some others player(s) have to steal the same vehicles (it could be very funny, if this/these player(s) have the same level (and similar stuff) than you and when he play 1vs1, because some guys ask to their friends to help them (to kill others)... for this kind of little missions..... (against a hi level and/or a returning player, it's almost impossible to stay alive or/and win this mission).

So yes there are heists, but it remains already very limited because many players already know by memories "Heists", and their goal is to accomplish the mission as quickly as possible (they want make all other heists very quickly), without really taking the time to do it wisely.
Examples: a recon mission or a preparatory mission, we don't go to the place, with a super-sporting fluorescent orange car, or the gun in his hand, nor to 150km/h in the streets ... because the goal in my opinion is to stay discreet. But many players doesn't care about this, even if they continue in free roam to pretend to be some the Big bosses of crimes (lol).
I don't ask for a "role play", but just some logic... But in GTA Online, many players doesn't care about this.

The last time i have played to Heists, i was in the lobby since 5 seconds and i start to choose my stuff (and buy some ammo etc...) while the host was pissed in the chat and vocal to say "ready! Ready! Ready! click on ready now!".

In mission, this player didn't care about others. He already knew everything by heart, and his trip was to do everything alone (other people were here only for him to launch the Heist missions).

"People" tell me that it's a bad luck (it happens to me 2 times on 3), but the reality in a few weeks, lot of people will play like that (like deathmatch and the majority of FPS, where everybody don't care about everyone/team, and where everybody wants to kill maximum players alone ......).

Or tell me to play with friends, but I'm not in school and nor student anymore (since many years now). My real friends don't necessarily play GTA online (nor my boss (lol)), we have our own life now.

Not to mention that even with "online friends", you can always have bad surprises.

Then I tried to create a Heist with real conditions, but nobody wanted to play like this: "no I want my super-sport car, it will be faster", "no I want to use my super noisy gun", "no I don't have time to play like this (I want to do all the 5 heists today during my 2 hours of gaming), and other crap like these... .

Plus, Heist doesn't consider it (even if it gives a bonus for people doing the Heists in order, without being hurt, without being detected etc... but it's hard (fortunately) for the moment for real "news" players, only big lvl with money can achieve this), but it's just a "bonus" (a money bonus). Every Heists should be feasible with some real behaviours and requirements.

The thing that bothers me the most in the Online, is that players play in a botched way. They don't take the time to do things well, to enjoy the game, nor to try all possible things/ways. And a lot of people too impatient who demand us to do things in their own way even if it's the wrong way (not to mention all those immature impatient people leaving lobby after 10 seconds of wait, nor all these immature kids with their armored vehicles and their super-guns, and their 90+lvl (i know it's a sh*tty level in console, it's the reason why they come on PC with their console character... to be less frustrated lol), playing bosses in the street against real new players... and crying when me, a noob, kill them ... lol).

The online is interesting, but as usual, some people make the online as hell.

And no the Online, it's a different game, you can't continue to play the "Solo" missions or random events in GTA Online. You can play them only in SP.

For me and for now, GTA Online is a deception, but it have a good potential, and my opinion could be change soon, some friends will play to GTA Online soon and i hope Rockstar will bring some interesting things to do.
