Possessed NPC Buzzard....Annoying....

Contact Mission: The Los Santos Connection

Once hacking the laptop, a Buzzard spawns at the Airport's helipads.

It actually takes off (NPCs spawn in it) after the target items are recovered from the hangar.

To avoid fighting it, one can either destroy it or steal it before continuing to the hangar.

HOWEVER, for those that don't know:

Stealing it and then exiting said helicopter, then proceeding to recover the required items from the hangar will still cause the Buzzard to become "alive" and hostile. The helicopter still exists, the mission deems it as an npc working vehicle to use against players once the package is recovered.

Kinda creepy that if it's actually flown into the hangar, NPC pilots won't even spawn in it due to how close the players are. Thus it seems like the Buzzard has taken a life of it's own or is possessed. It's pretty much a GTA SA flashback, back when helicopters were flying around on their own with no pilots.

So in short, don't leave that Buzzard unattended if you do decide to use it.

Otherwise it can easily surprise & kill your whole team if it's nearby during the package recovery.

* Especially if a player lands it in the hangar to recover the package themselves.

It will go batsh*t crazy immediately upon "activating" and fire rockets or it's guns randomly.

"AK" made quick video of her test run with it shortly after our group debacle & shared the link from XboxClips.

I can't figure out how to embed it, but still here's a video showing what will happen with that Buzzard:

I'll get a Gif up of another run with that happening.

First experience with this was about an hour ago, with 3 other players co-oping.

We had no spare lives left, and said possessed Buzzard killed us all because....we landed it in the hangar.

First real scare in this game I've ever had (and a good one to the other's in the mission!)

I haven't played GTA in a week or so - too busy with other things and other games - but this quirk has peaked my interest, I love screwing with the mission scripts, trying things in the wrong order, seeing how the NPCs behave when they're forced away from their script and so forth.

Yea I do this on purpose every time I play this mission :p Never gets old hearing everyone freak out on the mic and I'm silent, not acknowledging anything.

Thanks to AK for it.

You would think stealing the helicopter would negate NPC scripting for it later on.....guess not!

found out this the hard way.. my random teammate for the night died even before the hacking so i did everything myself. took the buzzard and destroyed everything in the hangar, parked the buzzard in the hangar so i could easily get back to it and take down the plane, got upstairs and took the package and the buzzard instantly came alive and killed me... lol was i surprised..

Well, LSC is my favorite mission, but I doubt it should be the way it is now. The plane and the chopper spawn to early, blowing the coke up is even easier than taking it, which makes it a Savage mission. Blowing up the coke should actually make the mission fail, but it doesnt. That terminator chopper is a nice addition and just a little bit of challenge, if you place it near the hangar.

Simply, players proceed to quick on that mission.

Yesterday, four players (!) left the hacker alone before he even arrived at the terminal. I wanted him to fail and let them others wait for ages, but he got my message to late. But after that, the vehicles which are supposed to spawn inside the hangar spawned outside and the leechers had serious issues to blow them up. Everyone is about to get the money inside the hangar, this is the annoying thing in LSC. I only take that money after I pointed on it next to a low ranked player if he refuses to pick it up. Most of the times, the dumb f*cks forget to blow up the plane first. There is no need to blow up the terminator chopper, because you should be already at Martins house when it has managed its take-off. Watch it, it takes very long for it to take off if nobody touched it before.

Terminator buzzard and LSC for life!

I just sniper the pilot. Normally when you collect the package in the hangar, it kind of hovers until you start shooting at oncoming enemies. One well aimed shot and the pilot can be killed. Even if the Buzzard does get near you, its not constantly shooting and it doesn't fire missiles (from what I know of). Best mission in GTA: Online in my opinion.

I normally just put a sticky on it before collecting the package with effective results.

Another annoying bug involves the 2 enemy buzzards that spawn during the final part of chop chop. I must have pumped thousands of rounds of .50BMG ammo from the insurgent pick up's mounted gun but it somehow acquired invincible armor during the spawn process. The hits were registering but the bugger refused to die.

The situation only resolved itself when it ate a rocket from a teammate's buzzard.

Mr. Larson

Why are you making things so compilcated? Again, you dont have to collect the coke. If you are already in the terminator buzzard, just shoot some missiles upstairs and blow the coke up. If you do it like that, the dark soul of the terminator buzzard will never be revealed.
And OP, next time, take the money instead of the coke. Nice ap pistol shooting btw.

I know it is off topic, but can anyone confirm that No hay bronca will fail if you take out the leader with a chopper or does it just fail randomly from time to time?

i think the buzzard that you took from the helipad , not from hangar . it's scripted to spawn a pilot there so as long as a teamate occupy the buzzard , they won't spawn

Or, you know, you could just blow it up before even approaching the hangar to begin with.....

Arrows to Athens

Old news pretty much. I used to wonder why my Buzzard used to magically come to life going apesh*t inside the hangar. This is why I always blow it up before going to the hangar as well as the supplier parked at the back of the runway. Sometimes for a laugh I fly it and blow up some enemies before parking it in a tight corner so the NPC starts going crazy with his chopper.

Another good thing is to attach a sticky bomb on the supplier plane. When it finally takes off simply detonate it and watch it burst into flames with glory. Don't forget the popcorn. ;)

I always shoot the tail rotor off after getting to the airport, then leave it for those npcs to die trying to fly it.

Nice Gif from it, & the added captions are quite funny.

On another note, a funny test:

2 Players take that Buzzard, pilot gets out to retrieve the coke.

If the passenger rides in one of the back seats & stays there (doesn't exit), will the NPC's still take over the Buzzard?

Kinda suck though if said player doesn't have a parachute, because then it's like the NPC's are kidnapping the player.

I had a Smilar experience one time. But actually I think once I landed the buzzard in or near the hanger Enemy NPC's spawned in it.

Spent some time on GTA and had a play with TLSC mission and that Buzzard, rather funny how it immediately springs to life with an NPC and starts shooting in your direction as soon as you collect the package.

I even got it to do that whilst playing with two other people who had died so were stuck watching me complete the last part :)
