Bxx
Why would you trade 20-35fps with proper graphics to 35-60fps in these conditions?
KingDong
Why would you trade 20-35fps with proper graphics to 35-60fps in these conditions? Because i like being able to play the game without choppy fps and input lag Maxxeine and Jenia

MWC
tbh it would probably look better with just normal textures/shadows/particles, with no shadows like this it just looks weird

SideshowRock
I like it. Don't listen to the newbs. Low end PC without shadows >>>>>>> console peasants. Edited May 4, 2015 by SideshowRock Mattv244
K.Walters
While it`s playable, I`d recommend saving up for a new PC. No need for GTX980. Take GTA5 sys req and go slightly above. At least you`ll have shadows and 60FPS then.

SideshowRock
Removing shadows from a PC game has been done so many times before, it's a common thing in PC gaming/modding/tweaking. The fact that you can get this running, without investing in any hardware, is very good. Ignore the kiddo's. gunziness
YourToaster
And why exactly did you bought GTA V if your PC can not handle it properly? It takes so much immersion away, this looks terrible and seriously not fun to play with. You should buy the Xbox one or PS4 version instead. iRideIndependent, Kampret and Ozyman

Really?why do people have the need to tell some one what they need to play with?.What if he doesn't have the money buy a ps4?. It doesn't matter what he is playing aslong as he's having fun.I have no idea why it bothers people it's not liking he is ruining your experience or anything. He is getting an improvement in FPS from the ps4 that's something. What's your point?? Also It's not like he doesn't know about upgrading the PC,he may not be in the situation to do so.Important thing is he is helping out people who have low end PC's and nothing more. miaumiau1
Dude, good job finding that and sharing it, ignore the negative comments, this can help someone with a low end pc/laptop gaming more fluidly or even gaming at all (imagine with textures low and so), so let me thank you in the name of those people at least. Braindawg
You do realise your very high textures take up most of your performance... right? Change them to normal. Ozyman, Shayd80 and Kampret
Trash_Ok
You do realise your very high textures take up most of your performance... right? Change them to normal. In fact, High and Normal is a small difference performance wise, and a big difference in quality. thinkingbear

scalliano
Not for me, it isn't. Setting the texture quality to Normal gave me the single biggest performance boost out of all of the options (dual GTX 460's SLI, 12GB RAM, 1st gen i7 3.1GHz). As someone who still wheels out their PS3 copy for playing with friends, I don't have a problem with lower grade textures. Upgrading my hardware soon, anyway. tizerist
All of you cussing over the missing shadows and saying he should get a console are completely missing the point. You see, the OP will have his PC GTA experience improve over time. Game patches, optimisation mods and new computer parts will all contribute to it getting better, for years to come. How is he going to make it better by splashing out on a new console (plus game) and then the only upgrade he can add is by buying a new TV? In one or two years his pc version will probably look better than your console version. Just sayin'. lpgunit and tooldc4205
scalliano
Indeed. You do what you need to do to get the game playable. The settings are there for a reason. To be played with. Edited May 4, 2015 by scalliano lpgunit and tooldc4205

Look at the poor peasants, blaming us for their problems. FYI my PC is about as low end as it gets. I just know how to maintain it well enough so that I don't have to nerf the graphics too hard in order to get 60 FPS. Since last gen R* has been known for its patches ruining game performance, or graphics, except 1.10 on CG consoles. If he doesn't upgrade, his game would look worse than X360.
