BadDriver153 Posted May 4, 2015 Share Posted May 4, 2015 Well, i have played games for about 10 thousand years it seems and i have always been a KB and mouse kind of guy BUT... the experience i have had with this awesome game may change that. I just tried to swim for the first time in this game and felt like i was going to explode from frustration, same kinda goes for bike riding. I am not too far into the game so i am thinking of getting a controller and hooking it up for the first time ever on a PC game Does anyone else think that the PC controls for GTA 5 are just... weird as FK?! The only thing that's better for keyboard and mouse is shooting. But even then, I still find it more convenient to use a controller. Especially because you have analog control as opposed to digital. There's just so many keys with a keyboard and there's nothing as smooth as an analog stick. Not to say mouse and keyboard is bad. It works surprisingly well, but just not my taste. I took the PC version mainly because shooting was really frustrating for me. It's way more enjoyable to aim with a mouse, but, to drive or fly, the keyboard is crap, since forever. It was just playable when racing games were simple and arcadish. I remember my early days on PC back in 1991. I used a controller to play Indianapolis 500 already. Shooting is good control-wise, but kind of sucks due to the tank-like character movement and the simplicity of the combat mechanics. Swimming is... freaking terrible but I don't think that's just a PC thing. Flying is... also quite sh*t\, very difficult to do precision flying, and that wind mechanic gets annoying fast. The only thing that bugs me is that the enter/exit vehicle is the f button and the landing gear button is g. G, the button right next to F. So if anyone has ever seen a guy go in for landing and instead jumped out and killed himself, that would be me Also, too many buttons and combos that controlls the radio. What I will say is Monitors are better than TVs for playing games. This is a FACT Mouse is better than control. But this game is a bit silly on keyboard, but it works. I haven't figured out how to take speed with a bicycle yet though, anyone knows? I've tried hammering shift and num pad, nothing works. But I finally figured out how to swim, only hold shift and aim with your mouse where to swim!!!!!!!!!!!!! (default settings.) I would guess 99% of GTAV's players tried using wasd to swim.! You haven't been pc gaming for all that long if all you've ever used is a keyboard and mouse. The whole reason PC gaming is superior is because it gives you options. Not because some douche dictates that KB+M controls only = PC gaming. Use what you like that's the whole point, but you're blind if you think that the KB+M controls in GTAV are the best. Shooting is pretty darn good,(and is superior in responsiveness etc.) I'll give them props for that. The game was designed around a controller though, so it's going to be more intuitive for a lot of people with a controller. Now, if you're a complete noob with a controller than maybe it's not for you. Not to mention, if you've ever seen the difference between a controller and a KB+M user driving a motorcycle, you'll know that there are definitely benefits to using a controller. Herky-Jerky bobbing back and forth, or more smooth lifelike turning. It's literally the closest I've ever gotten to the feel of really riding a motorcycle and that's saying something. If you want to make director videos and don't want to be looking like you're driving on crack is another reason to use one. PC master race uses whatever the f*ck we want. That's the whole point. Well after playing more and more i have gotten used to the controls more and more so i am going to refrain from hooking up the controller since i would have to get used to that even more since i hardly EVER use them, hell i dont even own a console . The only thing that's better for keyboard and mouse is shooting. But even then, I still find it more convenient to use a controller. Especially because you have analog control as opposed to digital.Your opinion. You should not use your opinion to judge why 70% of PC gamers use keyboard and mouse. Its stupid, its like saying you like chinese food in america then complain how USA americans survive with macdonalds or something like that.
