Rytuklis
Hey, just a thought I had while playing GTA V. Im a great fan of The Sopranos series, and the way I see it, Michael and Tony Soprano have great similarities. They both are criminals who have families that dont quite work out. Their personalities are very similar too. Could it be that his character was inspired by the mentioned series? Dangerous and sad and Big Gta fan
SuperGTFan
Michael is most likely based on Robert De Niro character from the movie Heat , at least when it comes to heists . Zello, sabitsuki, wiizardii and 2 others
Eram
Really? I mean really OP?! What's the outcome that you expect from this topic? Kinda, yeah both dudes with families doing some heists consulting shrinks or nay one is bold, manages some crime family and lives at NJ and the other... Might as well make some poll, why don't you?! swirler
You must have gotten a different version in your country, because Tony Soprano woulda put a bullet in the tennis coach for even looking at his wife and then one in that TV host for looking at his daughter. Tony Soprano was an egotistical sociopath, happy to stay in the game and a sly dog. Other than a handful of things in common, I dont view the characters themselves as that similar. Rocket Skates
Is this because they both go and see a shrink? That always reminded me more so of Rob De Niro & Billy Crystal in Analyze This, especially because Dr. Friedlander has the same curly hair that Crystal has in the film. Ehudben-Gera
Old thread but had to comment. The very first mission with Franklin and Michael you take his useless son's car back. A yellow SUV. That looks EXACTLY like AJs car in s6 of the Sopranos. I watch that show probably once a year since it aired. OP is not wrong, he is on the money. There is quite a bit of Tony Soprano in Michael. billiejoearmstrong8
Zello
A bit maybe but Michael is not a mob boss.
gunziness
Definitely. doesnt need to be a 100% copy of Tony for Michael to be insipired in him like many people suggest in here, theres quite a few nods and similarities between both characters, like theres is for other movie characters aswell (neil from Heat like people mentioned)
Official General
No not at all. The Sopranos shrink aspect may have inspired the shrink aspect of Michael's story, but that is it.
