I don't like not being able to see my character.

And to be honest I dislike it in SP too. It feels like I'm not playing as Mike or Trevor when I try FP.

And I genuinely think that the entire thing was just to rope in more of the FPS market. No other reason than that.

First person for driving cars, third person for everything else. Also, controller for driving/flying, mouse&board for walking and shooting.

Im surprised that theres more people who find it easier to drive in 3rd person than 1st. Shooting in 3rd is easier, no doubt, but driving in 1st is really easy when you realize your car's width like you do in real life. For those with licences and real street racing experience, im sure you'll agree.

Take the highway traffic slalom and lane-splitting challenge with your car of choice, and you'll see that when you learn how to gauge your width, first person will be a lot easier and feel a lot more immersive and rewarding.

Gotta lol at the ppl referencing COD, when talking about FPV and regarding it as a "gimmick".

GTA started as a top-down shooter, then it eventually went "3D"(GTAIII), now it has evolved into having a FPV(as a OPTION).

It seems that R* are smart and are just trying new views like always.

And if history is any clue, the virtual headset will be the next option then I guess.

Which is another reason(I think)why FPV was implemeted in the first place.

WTF are you talking about insider view?Only person talking that is you lol.Common sense is they like money so they put a feature in the game to draw in COD crowds simple. How complicated is it for you to figure that out.

Holy crap you have a boner for COD hate. Just a bit of a tip... COD is not the only damn FPS out there.

They more than likely took the idea from Saints Row 3 modders who made a FPS mod that was widely popular. FPS is a very popular genre and again, it's not strictly cornered to the COD market. Many of us haver been fans of FPS since doom, wolfenstein, duke nukem, unreal etc

Topic:

On foot, I prefer FPS view. I find it fun and more immersive. I occasionally use 3rd person for corner peering advantages, but find aiming easier in first person.

In car I prefer third person. Easier to shoot targets behind and I can see much more around me.

Nah nah nah Gta 6

While I don't hate First Person mode and I don't think it's there to appeal to the COD fans, I'd go for Third person any day of the week.

GTA is meant to be played in third person.

I disagree. Driving in first person is like driving blind. I especially don't trust it to drive like that while racing. They also need to fix the rear view mirrors in vehicles like they did mirrors in clothing stores. Make it actually work.

Third Person everything except sometimes for driving

Like what this guy said

First-person is so clunky, and the Animations are nothing like third-person, and i would actually use it alot more if it had the motion of Call of Duty. And you walk like an idiot in first-person.

If they made it where your left stick doesn't move where you see and just moves you body and right stick controls where you look I would use FPV a LOT more

What you described is exactly how "FPS" control scheme works in this game.

R* and most developers dont understand that their FoV settings (if they even have one) are pathetic.

I agree about car width, but the camera is too restrictive to be used all the time for me. If the camera didn't auto center that would be a start. It needs a wider field of view and real working mirrors.

The mirrors do seem to be a bit more reflective than they used to be.

I use first person for screenshot pictures using the PS4 Share button. For shooting i think it is hard to see if taking aim in first person, so often i use third person. While driving i use both first and third person, but in races third person is needed because of other players.

Sentinel Driver

Mainly 3rd person but when causing mayhem I like to do it in 1st person

Almost always third person, but when I play in free aim lobbies I use first person for shooting. I'm much more accurate that way.

I think the reason why First person mode was added in the first place was to make the game more immersive, like looking at textures closer instead of having to use a sniper scope or snapmatic, so R* can truly show off the power of Next gen systems by having a closer look of car interiors and the world itself.

For a game built specifically for Third person and it manages to incorparate First person without any changes, It works very well, though as I said before, I'd still pick third person any day.

I actually like both. I have it set so that when i'm in 1st person and go into cover, it switches to 3rd person.

And when i'm about to enter a vehicle it also switches to 3rd person. I don't really like driving in 1st person.

I like flying around the Buzzard in 1st person though.

I hate it when the host lock the camera to first person. Ugh.

driving - 3rd person

running - 1st person (as you don't have to tap X to run)

shooting without cover - 1st person

shooting from cover - 3rd person

I can't run in different directions using first person camera. Some times it won't even let me move! But first person driving is awesome.

DO THE DUDES PLAY CHICK CHARACTERS IN FIRST PERSON.

Because if so you might as well start saving for the surgery now.
