Cash Cards didn't Exsist in GTA IV but You could Steal cars and have a lot of fun with just driving them around. Even though you couldn't keep/Store or sell them nothing revolved around money. And that's what made Multiplayer so much fun.

And it's not like Super Rare Cars Spawn online. You will see the Ocasional Classic Lambrogini, Voltic, and A few other high end sports cars. R* Will still be making Profit off of The people who play this game.

No, if it was like that. There would be no such thing as "Fun".

Wrong.

Here's what I'd love to see happen with high end cars you see on the street:

Make ANY car that you find on the street in pub lobbies only be able to be stolen. You'd instantly get a wanted level (3 stars maybe?) due to the car's tracker and you'd have a reward/bounty placed on you by the owner for returning the stolen car. Once you have the car, you'd have to drive across town to Lester's warehouse and pay him a fee to reprogram/remove the tracker for you. After successfully doing this, then you would be able to either keep the car or sell it at LSC. I think this would be fair because in my opinion you would have earned the car after all that plus it would make free roam a lot more interesting. :colgate:

Of the things you mentioned, I like the idea of getting an instant bounty when you steal a high-end car. I would incorporate that into the concept I posted back in post #27, which also included the three-star wanted level.

However, I'm not sure if taking the car to Lester is the way to go. Yes, Lester has the electronics skills, but when it comes to stealing cars, I think of Simeon. I'm sure Simeon's people would also have the necessary specific skills to deal with disabling the tracker. I think his warehouse on the docks (where you deliver High Priority Vehicles) should/could be where you'd take high-end stolen cars. The out-of-the-way location would add an extra layer of difficulty to the process.

Not really something that it an overwhelming priority for me, but if they did it that way:

Unlock at Level 75: Simeon contact ability: Remove Tracker: A contact point comes up near Premium Deluxe Motorsports or his lockup by the docks. Cost is something like $10,000.

One of the following happens:

80% chance, tracker is removed, car can be stored/modded/insured/sold normally.

10% chance Simeon keeps the car because he is greedy, and send you a text message justifying himself and calling you a racist. (approximately 99% chance that the player starts shooting rockets ineffectively a the front of Premium Deluxe Motorsports

10% chance Simeon screws up because he's not the brightest bulb in the fixture. Tracker is not removed, car is still "too hot" and as soon as you pull away, you get a 4 star wanted level. Simeon sends you a text something like, "No refunds, all services are final, you f*cking racist."

Unlock at level 99: Lester Contact Ability: Remove Tracker: A Contact point comes up somewhere random in Los Santos. Costs about $25,000

Tracker is removed, car can be stored/modded/insured/sold normally. Lester says something simple like "OK."

But then you wouldn't have to spend $200-500k to buy one. I'd say at the very least you should be able to sell it for a fraction of its online price.

Perhaps being able to sell it at something like 5-10% of its purchase price or paying like 90-95% of its sell price to make it yours, amounting to a small discount over buying it. Then youd still have motivation to steal them while not eliminating the point of buying them.

Stop being broke ass noobs and just buy one ffs...

It takes about 2-3 hours to raise 500k or more

And with heist now days can be done even faster.

To many ppl want something for nothing now days.... Ever heard of work?

Many people work in real life, and play this game for entertainment. They don't want this game to become a second job; they just want to have some fun and entertainment.

Those who don't have the time will want the game to be simpler, so they can get into all aspects of the game in their limited time available. Once other hand, those with more time to dedicate to the game will want more depth and complexity, so it doesn't get quickly boring. All game developers face this challenge, and no set of game players will ever agree on where that balance point should be located.

I'm fine with the system the way it is, although it would be nice to have the option to buy the car for the full retail price (or close to it). For something that would make sense on Rockstar's end, I'd suggest doing a reverse of the "10% LSC sales" (i.e. a $95,000 earns you $95000). You find a car you want, you get a 10% discount if you want to insure it and it's over the limit. You find an Adder? $900,000 instead of $1,000,000. I'd imagine if it was implemented that there'd be a few people who went broke buying Adders or whatever and end up buying kesh kerds.

Also it would give trolls an opportunity to stake out the spawn spots to ruin their fun. And reverse trolls the chance to drive stock looking vehicles around and say "don't blow me up, I'm going to LSC!"

Yea some of us actually work in real life*. This is a video game that needs a massive overhaul from the noobs who created it.

*not me though, I'm unemployed.

That's my point though....

If people can be that lazy in a game to want everything handed to them for free they must be the type of work shy bums that don't wanna work in real life and moan when the working class have nice things.

Agree. It should just be harder to steal (more stars) and sell for less than like 50k. Kinda ironic that in GTA we can't steal and sell / keep the "grandest" vehicles.

BS... I work 11 hours a day most days and spending 2-3 hours earning money on heist and missions does NOT feel like a second job.

If anything, doing the jobs and heist are actually part of the entertainment.

What would be the point even playing GTA if we can own everything on day 1?

It's not BS; it's just your opinion. You're just you; you're not everyone. I was making a general statement; I said that "many" people feel that way. Not "most" and certainly not "all". The fact that you don't feel that way does not disprove what I said.

Also, I never said that everything should be available from the first day. In fact, I said quite the opposite, if you go back and re-read post #24. I suggested quite an involved process that a player would need to go through before being able to steal high-value cars. Other people in this thread have come up with other ideas as well that allow you to be able to steal high-end cars, but not necessarily right away.

If we could do that, the game would be incredibly boring with no purpose.
Only power players and entitled kids think that you should be able to sell every car.

If we are able to steal, mod and keep high priced vehicles then why isn't there a mechanic in the game where our vehicles are subject to theft by others.

There in lies the reason.

The reason is cash cards.. And nothing more.

You and Choke are 100% correct.

You guessed wrong. There are many things that should be level-locked, this is not one of them.

E.g. Truffade Adder should have been locked to level 300 or so.

Stealing cars should be a skill, represented by a stat like strength or lung capacity. The more you do it, the better you get at it.

As a new player, with no car stealing skill, you'd only be able to steal low-end cars, and you'd be slow at it. The more you do it, the better you get, your skill level rises, which means both you get faster at it, and can start stealing higher levels of cars (cars with more value).

When you max out the skill, you can steal (and keep) any car in the game.

To make it more interesting, there should be only one place on the map where you can take the very high-value cars. Not part of LSC, but an independent chop shop. You would also need to earn the trust of this place to take them high-value cars, because no chop shop is going to let a random person bring them a high-value car. You earn trust with the place by bringing them lower-value cars first.

Additionally, the very high-value cars should be even more rare on the streets than they are now. Also, stealing one should give you an immediate three-star wanted level.

This is just a rough idea, and is just my own opinion. I have no doubt that Rockstar will never do this, we all know they think there vision for the game is perfect and what the players think is crap. I'm sure some of you will also think this is a stupid idea, and that's fine. We're not all the same.

Ultimately, I think it should be possible to steal a super car and be able to keep it...but I don't think it should be as easy or simple as stealing and keeping a Dominator.

I love the way you think.

So having those cars locked has got nothing to do with player progession? Having something to work for instead of just stealing anything you could want. The same argument could be put forward to Pegasus vehicles and weapons and ammo. Even properties to some extent. Why can't we just squat at properties throughout LS? Why do we need to buy them? Because it gives us something to work for. Thats why. If we could steal everything where would we spend our hard earned money. The unicorn can only be entertaining for so long. If we had everything we would find ourself boring of the game very quickly IMO. I think it has nothing to do with cash cards. At they end of the day they are optional. If R* really wanted to they could release DLC that could only be purchased by cash cards. I would love to see some peoples reactions to that around here considering their reaction to optional cards as it is now.

Lel at the people saying no.

I though this was Grand Theft Auto.

Not only you have to buy cars, but if you steal one 7/10 times you get a bounty. It's like they want us to do the opposite of the game's title.

Stealing and joyriding in a car is LITERALLY the meaning of the title of this game. What you're looking for is Grand Theft Steal everything and keep it to myself, obviously YOU are playing the wrong game.

LBC

i'm sorry but

"grand theft steal everything"- what the f*ck lol. grand theft IS stealing you dingleberry.

do you not know what the term "grand theft auto" even means? if someone were to steal your car right from your garage/driveway, do you honestly expect them to return it? if there were suddenly an over-abundance of lamborghinis in the world and stealing them were as easy as stealing cars in GTA, rest assured i'd have an entire backyard full of lambos right about now- all stolen and never being returned to their original owners.

They should've made it so you could store & modify them, but never sell them.

How's this. They let you store anything but it can't be insured and the cops still notice you driving a stolen car like they do now. That's a fair and simple solution.

Sure!

...but if you can modify any car and put anything in your garage then for realism, the police should be able to track you down and do a raid of your garage.

...Then you have to stay away from that garage/apartment for up to 1 game month. If you go back, you can get arrested, go to court, and be sentenced to jail.

...Your crew can break you out of jail or you can serve your term there playing mini-games for six game months.

...If your crew fails to break you out, they also end up in jail.

Fair?

Edit: Maybe an option where you can pay up to $1 million dollars for a good lawyer to try to get you off. $1 million gives you the best lawyer and a 95% chance of getting off. $10,000 gives you a Better Call Saul type lawyer with a 5% chance of getting off. Or one of your crew mates can represent you for free.
