"This Car is too hot to modify"

The game is cash card based and thats how they get your money. You have to see this game for what it is, if you are going to be dealing with the devil, come prepared. This car is too hot to modify... Not if I dupe it through my garage door it isn't..

The high ends spawning online are cheap enough that it makes no sense why you cannot keep em. Most of them aren't even good vehicles for racing. The ones spawning online should be keepable but with a price to remove the tracker (20% of cars value) and then you must re track and reinsure the car which is pricey. When the cars lose insurance glitch happebed i had to buy 125k insurance on an adder. Why does it even have an actual cost in lsc idif you can only buy it and it comes insured?

I'd be for this a lot more if they added dlc vehicles on the street online like in SP. There should be an option to "legalize" them and pay twice for the insurance fee. But there's a catch. They go for less money (250k for a stolen adder) and you can only sell supers and sports every 12 actual hours.

I don't get how just because the car has a tracker, it's suddenly immune to modifying. There should be an option at LSC to strip original tracker to fit a new one, and until you remove the original tracker, you cannot store it in your garage.

Lel at the people saying no.

I though this was Grand Theft Auto.

Not only you have to buy cars, but if you steal one 7/10 times you get a bounty. It's like they want us to do the opposite of the game's title.

Stealing and joyriding in a car is LITERALLY the meaning of the title of this game. What you're looking for is Grand Theft Steal everything and keep it to myself, obviously YOU are playing the wrong game.

With a comment like that..I take it GTA online is the 1st Grand Theft Auto game you ever played.

Because if you think stealing cars and keeping them is not what GTA was all about. You have some serious brain damage

that roulette of a garage in gta3-sa or the friggin parking lot in IV are both no satisfying ways of KEEPING a car. gta:online is the first gta with a proper garage system and on top of that i never ever lost a car that i am keeping! and yes its good for the cashcards.

Here's what I'd love to see happen with high end cars you see on the street:

Make ANY car that you find on the street in pub lobbies only be able to be stolen. You'd instantly get a wanted level (3 stars maybe?) due to the car's tracker and you'd have a reward/bounty placed on you by the owner for returning the stolen car. Once you have the car, you'd have to drive across town to Lester's warehouse and pay him a fee to reprogram/remove the tracker for you. After successfully doing this, then you would be able to either keep the car or sell it at LSC. I think this would be fair because in my opinion you would have earned the car after all that plus it would make free roam a lot more interesting. :colgate:

Of the things you mentioned, I like the idea of getting an instant bounty when you steal a high-end car. I would incorporate that into the concept I posted back in post #27, which also included the three-star wanted level.

However, I'm not sure if taking the car to Lester is the way to go. Yes, Lester has the electronics skills, but when it comes to stealing cars, I think of Simeon. I'm sure Simeon's people would also have the necessary specific skills to deal with disabling the tracker. I think his warehouse on the docks (where you deliver High Priority Vehicles) should/could be where you'd take high-end stolen cars. The out-of-the-way location would add an extra layer of difficulty to the process.

Stolen cars already have a set value in LSC: 10% of their purchase price. A Felon costs $90,000 if you buy it, and if you buy one, with no modifications it sells for $45,000: half price of new (if I remember correctly). A STOLEN one only sells for $9000, 10% of the purchase price, and substantially less than what a purchased one would sell for.

By this rule, a stolen Adder would hypothetically sell for $100,000.

Lol Suuuuuure buddy. That complaint was funny. Saying there was "no butthurt", even though people bitch and moan about cash cards. Seems like butthurt to me.

OT: I hope R* never change the way it is now.

Yet again another flaw in the game. Imo, after reaching a certain level, you should be able to mod/keep/sell ANY car class in the game, including supers. Yay or nay?

You know what.. I actually like this idea. This is how it should be

Lower levels--pretty much anything under level 130, it stays the same as it is now.

level 130+ -- own/modify any utility vehicle (heck let us have races in them like in the previous game.. wtf)

level 200+ and every 50 intervals just let us own and modify a different class. I don't have the energy to go into detail.

When you have access to every civilian class, then the highest levels could have cop cars, police transporter, armored truck, etc.

No idea why they put so many limits on their game and have useless high levels. Give them purpose with privileged unlocks that we don't have access too anyway. this would be a nice incentive for levels 200+ and give people a reason to boost get to level 1000+ and keep playing.

The game is as it is-- you are free to not play it---

I think this is the thread you are looking for... http://gtaforums.com/topic/681131-gtao-the-official-btch-moan-topic/

as this one will go no where.... Sorry... LOCK

Ok-- someone complained about this being locked so .... Unlocked-- lets see what happens.... to me it just looks like most people are complaining about the existence of cash cards....

Here is the complaint (I will not reveal who)

I protest the locking of this thread.
Partly because it was more than just bitching and moaning. It had turned into an actual discussion, with people giving ideas.
I mainly protest because of the comment in the lock message "this is going to go nowhere". This is a speculation about the future that frankly is not backed up by the thread so far. There was no flaming, no butthurt, no reason so far to suspect the thread would turn sour. In fact, this was actually one of the better threads here, an actual DISCUSSION. Why you would want to cut off a decent DISCUSSION on a DISCUSSION board is beyond me, and I'm an experienced discussion board admin.

thank you for unlocking this thread and lets us brainstorm with more ideas.

I was looking at the other percentage when selling website brought cars which is like 60 percent? My idea is if dlc cars spawn on the street like they do in SP then instead of the typical 10 percent for street cars, how about they raise it up to 20 or 25 percent but can only sell them ever real time 12 hours.

My idea is that people should be able to modify/sell/keep any car class but! when you sell it, it should go for at least 1/4 or half the original price it sells for.

If Rockstar does that they'd be better off returning to the original payout system for missions. Same applies for my idea too.

I'm actually good with not being able to sell [premium] stolen cars.

I'd accept either that or if we do want to sell it, let us sell it for the parts we modified. I guess that would be equivalent to the 1/4 off the original price.

ALSO

If that pink slip rumor was true, if anyone is scared to lose their car, why not use a stolen car with no resale value to race?

If we are able to steal, mod and keep high priced vehicles then why isn't there a mechanic in the game where our vehicles are subject to theft by others.

There in lies the reason.

The reason is cash cards.. And nothing more.

The reason, is most likely, for a small step towards more realism as well as the ability to spend cash. If we could just steal all vehicles, then there would be less of a point and need to spend money on. All you would have left is Ammo, clothes and car modifications to spend money on. Your logic is good for the clothes aspect, but couldn't we also just steal the ammo, weapons and car modifications if the game is built on the premise of crime? There is nothing wrong with taking games in steps of realism. Who knows, maybe in a few years, they'll add fuel for cars for actual use to gas stations. I wouldnt mind that feature. I know someone on the forums made a great list and method as to how it could work without annoying people too much. You're looking far into it. Each GTA has been becoming more "realistic" than the last and by realistic, I mean, as to the new features with each new game.

Nothing wrong with cash cards; those are optional. And you dont even get anything unobtainable that other players who didnt/dont use cash cards could get. Only cash. And since the heists, you have of a less reason to blame it on cash cards.

On the other hand, the release of NG GTA V (PS4 + Xbox1), was due to the greediness of R*. The ability of buying cars was most likely not due to cash cards/greed.

One thing I agree with is that it's silly and not 'grand theft auto'-ish.

But I can't say I mind. Expensive scars are only good for racing in the class. Smaller, more agile cars are much more practical. I use the 9F and Carbonizzare for everything, plus the Kuruma of course. Yea I have a Zentorno in the garage but I haven't used it since I bought these 2.

And they are like 200k each (okay, 200k more for upgrades but still half the price of a Zentorno).

And what's this with cash cards all the time? Stop blowing other people's expensive PVs all the time and you'll have millions.

The only thing that bothers me is that sometimes I see an Infernus or a Feltzer or something, in a real cool color combo that I've never seen before and don't know how to replicate. I'd love some sort of option to steal that car and keep it, even if I have to pay the full retail price for it.

Some sort of huge fee for removing the old tracker and fitting a new one would be cool too, assuming it only worked on NPC cars and not PV's of other players.

It's hard to imagine R* doing anything that might impact cash card sales though, no matter how minor.

Btw, this is like a super old topic covered many times. People are going to say that a lot.

Never seen a Tourismo R in traffic. Or an Adder. Innovation. Entity. Slam Van. Slam Truck. Either of the race cars. Cheetah? Z-type.Monroe. Stingers. Casco.

Point being, not everything spawns in traffic.

maybe R* can add a feature that spawns rare supercars once in a while? like with the special crates there would be a popup on the side saying "an entity has been spotted" and who ever gets to the car first w/o dying keeps it.

Yes this! I knew I had another idea but forgot this was what i wanted to say. I'd like it to be more random than the crates where everyone just wait the 10 hours, 3hours and camps the spawn site. Make it like the red or green cars that just pop up.

I reckon make 'em stealable, but raise the difficulty of keeping the car. If a random NPC is pushing a 500k motor, chances are he can pay someone to come after you?

Indeed. Some of the cars need to be restricted to purchaseable only, as they already are. Leaving anything that spawns in traffic as fair game, is fair to me. You still have to pay mod costs, and you still have a selection of cars you need to buy if you want them. Perhaps instead of a beacon that says "x car has spawned here" just have it say "x car has spawned somewhere in san andreas" and now there is a "permanent" time limited spawn somewhere on the map, where an NPC has basically parked their car for some errands. You have maybe an IRL hour at most to find and claim it. Otherwise, the NPC "drives off" (despawns).

And even then, have some kind of resistance force once you steal it? Instant 4 star? Bounty hunters? Mercs?

Edit: Hit post too soon
