I mostly care about people who grief, like that prick who did something to keep other players in a loop of being killed over and over again. I hope he's been perma'd. I have sympathy for anyone getting banned for only modding SP. Do you think people using mods in solo online should be banned (not cheating mods but like the ragdoll mod, rainbow car mod, and other funny mods) should be banned? Apparently those who were banned were also using cheat engine and many other trainers online. Good to see R* taking action on those players who were blatantly cheating. Honestly, I have no opinion about the harmless mods. I can see that they don't do any harm and give people a few laughs, but the fact of the matter is - where is the line drawn and can it realistically be followed? There are always going to be people who ruin it for others, this is why it's very hard for R* to be lenient about allowing modding online. If there was a way to allow only the silly mods that do not impact on other people's experience of Online in a negative way, I wouldn't mind. However, if R* has to outlaw all mods Online to stop the cheaters, then so be it, tbh. It sucks but the prats who were having the time of their lives griefing other people needed to be stopped bc it was messing up Online for everyone else. Looks like R* is being lenient to some people by only issuing 2 week bans, anyway. Heard some people got perma'd but I guess things are being done on a case-by-case basis? That affects no one else. In a way it's R* being trigger happy. I took the extra measure of deleting the hook before entering online, but so far I've been ok. Uncle Sikee Atric Posted May 2, 2015 Share Posted May 2, 2015 Well, the ban waves were expected.... This quickly shows they are taking the protection of Online seriously too. At least this wave is little more than a 'we are watching' and a wrap on the knuckles. It is very easy for those bans to become permanent, but that didn't happen, this time.... I suspect nearly everyone will know someone that has been caught by this and next time I feel R* will not be as forgiving, first offence or not! The problem I have is that the SP has been policed too. It seems a little over zealous that bans have been issued to those players, but then it is an early stage, script hooks are still in their infancy and until one is developed that auto disables itself as soon as you go online, I will steer clear. As for modding, it seems this will slow development, but not kill it.... It must be down to the Dedicated Server teams to make that step to remove R* from the equation and then we can push forward. The script editors will get there soon and then the modding scene will flourish to it's full potential. I can wait as the total conversions and map editors will evolve the game to the next level. They give all us modders a bad name and ruin everything. They should not be given another chance, just perma ban them. this is why I am against people begging for a Simple Native Trainer or trainers of any kind in GTA V... This is also why I was against modding for GTA V... There was way too much Hype for GTA V which attracted some of the worse kinds of trolls, letting them have trainers in the PC version is pretty much giving them a free pass to ruin the game for other players... Punishing the majority for the actions of the minority has never worked out well. What kind of AAA company releases a game with a Multiplayer without any kind of anti-cheat system? Just because a few random A-holes cheat in Online doesn't mean that the entire modding community needs to be punished. You're on a forum where one of the primary purposes is to discuss and distribute mods, ffs. Really, it's astonishing that R* took no appropriate measures to deal with modding/cheating beforehand. I modded SP and i think i haven't logged into online while i had mods installed. I've never used the online bypass. This was on version 335. I made a backup of a clean reinstalled 335 installation and the day after R* released patch 350. I downgraded and used mods until AB updated his scripthook to work with 350. I haven't used it so what i did was that i completely uninstalled my game and the leftover folders/files and reinstalled it using steam. My game is now on build 350. As of now i haven't used the scripthook or any mods. Only a 100 save. And i'm still not banned. I'm hoping it stays this way. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

His account may have been hacked because he says there is a second open support ticket( complaint about ban ) under his account from yesterday that he did not make. He was in a public lobby where someone was dropping money and he picked some up unintentionally( said the guy was flood the area around him with it ). So be cautiuos. IMHO I think this complete B.S.
