First, they take your money.

Then, they molest you.

Finally, they ban your account.

Call me an asshole but mods should be used only for single player and not multiplayer.

Imagine the handling mods, these are considered cheating and R* does a good job banning these cheating motherf*ckers.

It's no wonder after the trainers that works for online. Go on, R*, ban those filthy cheating kids!

If you want to use mods (who doesn't) do yourself a flavor and do it only in SP.

You're not an asshole because what you're saying is justified, but you're also wrong.

People who have been using the unmodified Alexander Blade version of the Scripthook, the one that completely disables itself when you go online (ie. SP only), are being banned. That's the problem.

In that case with the bold letters, yes, you're right and I agree. That's simply not nice.

There's no evidence that people that have used SP only mods are being banned - but I'm willing to be corrected on this.

I was banned a few minutes ago, but will be unbanned 16/05, and still do not know why. I removed the scripthook folder since the patch crippled him

Well in GTA IV you got banned by installing the game more than five times, i did... At least that kind of DRM died with GFWL.

Was banned, kek I used the endeavor mod to tp to some places I've never seen, in solo online too. I really couldn't care less, I don't find any enjoyment out of online ever since the native trainer came out. Maybe it's cause you can't be a whale online, or maybe it's cause I don't have any friends. But I'm just waiting for the day someone puts online stuff in singleplayer (like apartments and more interiors) or someone makes a dedicated server. Yeah I can wait a couple years :/

Well done Rockstar.

The dumbasses who go online looking to grief with trainers should be perma banned. They give all us modders a bad name and ruin everything.

They should not be given another chance, just perma ban them.

What they should do instead of just blanket ban anyone who has a trainer/mod installed, is to simply check if it's active and injecting into the game (only in Online, ofc), THEN it issues bans. If it's there but not turned on, then it does nothing. Any decent anti-cheat system does this, hell even PunkBuster does this...

All that's needed then is to simply code the stuff to turn itself off when Online is launched, like ScriptHookV, and only the idiots that recode it to work in Online would be punished, instead of people who have mods installed, but have them disabled while in Online. Most anti-cheat systems don't register cosmetic mods either, because only that client can see it and it's not injecting or hurting anything.

I wish I could just uninstall Online, I don't play it enough to justify uninstalling my SP mods for fear of getting banned for them simply existing on my hard drive, anyway. Extremely bad move on R*'s part, IMO. Punishing the majority for the actions of the minority has never worked out well.

Exactly.

Instead of implementing a basic anti cheat system they choose to penalize all of thus for the actions of a few inbred idiots. We now have to result to pirate cracks in order to enjoy modding which is absolutely ridiculous. It shouldn't be this way. I cannot believe they released this game without anti cheat detection. Like you said even punkbuster could detect these basic scripts.

I bet Alexander Blade would even volunteer to work with Rockstar on this.

this is why I am against people begging for a Simple Native Trainer or trainers of any kind in GTA V...

This is also why I was against modding for GTA V... There was way too much Hype for GTA V which attracted some of the worse kinds of trolls, letting them have trainers in the PC version is pretty much giving them a free pass to ruin the game for other players...

What kind of AAA company releases a game with a Multiplayer without any kind of anti-cheat system? Just because a few random A-holes cheat in Online doesn't mean that the entire modding community needs to be punished. You're on a forum where one of the primary purposes is to discuss and distribute mods, ffs.

I know plenty of people that only used the trainer in sp and didn't receive a ban...so not sure how much truth there is to this.

The problem with that is if you even launch Online with a modified .dll for the trainer, it detects it and bans you even if it's disabled and not injecting, at least that's what I'm gathering from both R*'s patch notes and player's feedback.

See above. The best thing people with modded games can do right now is to just stay out of Online until this whole thing is solved or R* gives up. This way there's a reduced chance for "good" players to be banned without reason, and only the idiots actively cheating will get the book thrown at them. Preferably they'll put some kind of cheat detection in that isn't like a mall cop on a power trip. I'd even settle for PunkBuster at this point.

EDIT: Also, @the post below mine: You're really not helping the situation.

As long as R* doesn't take away all of my cheat engined cash(Shame on them for making it that easy really) and my nice 100+ level I'll be fine with not playing online for 2 weeks, sh*t with the stuttering the game is basically unplayable anyway, maybe they can fix it while I'm off lol. I never used hacks on anyone just so people know, only used it to affect myself. I guess I won't really know until they unban, but social club stat's haven't changed.

Good to see the cheaters in Online are getting banned, lmao. I mostly care about people who grief, like that prick who did something to keep other players in a loop of being killed over and over again. I hope he's been perma'd.

I have sympathy for anyone getting banned for only modding SP.

well maybe since they got valve to go back on what they did with paid mods, Rockstar will do what we want if you complain enough (being sarcastic)
