DigitalNikki
Is there anyway to filter out invites and jobs that are locked to 1st person?
DrunkGamer
No there isn't, if you want to play exclusively in FP then you need to host jobs yourself and lock them to FP.

I've been trying to do first person heists for a month and even after telling everyone in my heist lobbies "hey this heist is going to be locked in first person, if you don't want to do it I understand" 9/10 times someone leaves as soon as we start and they realize ):
Verstappen
I never saw a heist locked to first person. I have however seen people do heist with me in first person, they walk real weird.

I don't like to lock the view because if someone wants to play in 1st or 3rd let them. I know about the award for heists in 1st person, but I don't care about awards. If I get one, I get one but I wont try and get one. Edited May 1, 2015 by ChevyOwner
SRTTURBO4
I host stuff all the time and I NEVER lock the POV. Really, whats the point of even having the lock in the first place? I play 1st person exclusively but I totally understand why most people don't like it. Having a choice is beautiful and I honestly don't see why a host would lock the pov. Señor_Fisto
I host stuff all the time and I NEVER lock the POV. Really, whats the point of even having the lock in the first place? I play 1st person exclusively but I totally understand why most people don't like it. Having a choice is beautiful and I honestly don't see why a host would lock the pov. Besides for the challenges? Well to be blunt it's just more difficult/fun. I run my contact missions in first person only, and there's a huge difference in third person and first person. In third person, I'm casually firing a gun straight through the entire body of the truck we're delivering at guys in our blind spot. No big deal. But in first person, I can't just magically shoot through our blind spot with pinpoint accuracy. I actually have blind spots, someone cracks the windshield, I need to shoot it out. Also aiming becomes more difficult when firing from a speeding car along the road because you actually have to account for bumps and jumps instead of having a concrete, unmoving crosshair that's 100% accurate no matter what angle from the car they are. Plus you can't wallpeak in third person. In order to know where an enemy is, you have to actually put yourself in harms way in order to see, none of this invisible mirror peaking or that dude from SM64 holding a camera behind you the whole time telling you everything you need to know. Ducking now actually has a drawback. Driving requires looking where you're turning to not run into sh*t, you start to notice traffic signals. If it's red, you better be checking your peripherals. Green is good to go. Everything is just a little more intense/immersive when you're in FP. Getting t-boned and flying off the freeway has a certain "oh f*cking sh*t" moment in first person that's just par for the course in third. I just wish I could find more people who enjoyed doing heists in FP. Edited May 1, 2015 by Señor_Fisto 007_eleven
DigitalNikki
If you like 1st person great, but it's when it is locked to 1st person it causes problems. My biggest complaint is every movement is exaggerated. The view bobbing takes it too far, and everything move you make the characters head move 2-3x father then you would move your head in reality. After using both 1st and 3rd the game acts like it was made for 3rd person, and 1st person was tacked on as an afterthought.

I mean GTA is and a third person game and always has been and this is literally the first official implementation of first person in the series ever so understandably there's some kinks to be worked out Also you people really need to check out this new thing called the "settings". So many people don't even know you can change the targeting mode that I'm not surprised at the sheer amount of people who don't know you can change individual aiming sensitivities, looking sensitivities, field of view, turn head bobbing on or off, turn auto level on or off, changing deadzones, etc and ALL of these options are able to have independent settings based on first and third person camera mode. I keep my first person high on the sensitivity meanwhile I don't have to touch the third person settings because I like them as is. DigitalNikki
I knew about everything there but the headbob setting. Must look again. Update There does not seem to be a setting for that on PC. Edited May 2, 2015 by ChevyOwner
razmat
in the only few jobs I been in so far I have seen both 3rd and first person. now I understand whats going on. at first it was bizzare and I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get out of first person. Maya Echo Visari
I'd play in first-person more, but when you play a game like Killzone: Shadowfall, Dying Light or Far Cry 4, first-person in GTA V just seems unplayable (for me). Everything is stiff, clunky, disorientating and I love first-person. I think it's the best way to play in my opinion. Of course it's console I'm talking, the controller isn't exactly helping. But I realize that they couldn't just build Grand Theft Auto V from the ground-up in both first-person AND third-person so I'm not holding any resentment. If they did, the latest versions of the game could take a couple more years to develop. Motion-capture takes it's toll. I feel that their future installments will make for fantastic and seamless execution of first-person mechanics. Once they've ironed out it's issues, I'm sure. I hope we see Red Dead (Redemption?) 2 with a first-person perspective as well, as it is obvious GTA won't drop first-person. How I'd melt just thinking about it's shootouts, duels and Mexican standoffs via the eyes of the gunslinger. OT: Don't got the game for PC, sorry OP. My head would explode from the uncontainable amount of joy and excitement that I'd feel if they did do a first person mode in Red Dead, god imagine riding horses and shooting famous wild west guns in FP mode? Game of the year right there for me (:
