CPU usage/heat

This game creates more heat than Prime95 torture tests. No joke, Prime95 tops out my CPU at 48c. GTA V hits 63c (1 degree over the thermal limit). Insane, none of my other games run this hot, wonder if it's because of the memory leak...

I feel your pain I had a Bsod on a totally stable i7-4790k its OC'd but has been stable for almost a year now. I run some pretty CPU inteseive programs too. FSX, Lockheed Martin's Prepar3d ect but GTA is the only to ever cause a Bsod

First off, CPU overheating is always your PC. A game can't force your CPU to run above it's maximum, and if you can't keep your CPU cool at max usage then your build is flawed in some way. A memory leak isn't going to cause your CPU to overheat. A comically insufficient power supply unit would be much better suited for the task.

I don't think it's the game. When you're gaming your GPU and CPU both heat up together, so maybe the GPU heat is rising and making the CPU hotter.

For me, prime95 gets my CPU to 41C (30 minute stress test) and GTA V gets it to around 37-39C (around 3 hours of playing).

Oh right, I can't see them on the mobile site. I'll switch to the desktop site.

I'm getting 49C (fx-8320 + hyper 212 cooler) running at 4.2ghz with 1.296 Vcore. And that's prime95 testing, with GTA V my temp is lower.

What's your Vcore set at?

I using stock voltage at 4GHz and my ambient temp is quite warm here

I've got the opposite problem. High GPU temps. The only way to somewhat control it would be to cap the framerate in half (30 fps). But that introduces microstutter and the simple fact that it feels and looks sluggish.

CPU usage and temps don't seem too bad...actually it's quite modest.
