Hi I've organized this post to a little overview of everything.

The Recent Specimen Submitted & Recent Actions Taken.

As I've said SAPDFR is being renamed to Rapid Response as the trademark wasn't passed through. The trademark was recommended by my adviser and i sought to get it done as we have other content in development that are stand alone. Please refer to my other post for that. As for that specimen submission that's not my name, my name is Juan, but by the looks of it it's one of the PBG managers who seems to be attempting in helping me get the trademark (which It's hard to say as certain emails are shared between management and anyone has the ability to respond if they had access to the specified email). In depth PBG originally has someone who originally handles all of their specimens, as they're hired by us, or at least PBG as i'm no longer with the team due to my actions I've decided to leave as I've spent an excessive amount of funds (on that trademark) that in my opinion is reckless without it being stand alone.

 

The manager Elizondo/Jesse now owns PBG 100% (and so did i) however PBG just speaks to the attorney's office (who PBG hires for trademarking) and they relay any messages, i don't have too much details as i was never involved in communications with the office nor the .gov site until requesting it cancel. I originally made requests for managers to do that for me, and one of my lower staff (adviser) to do researching for me.

 

Over all I have took the initiative to rename the mod, and I, to my knowledge have requested the trademark stop (awaiting for it to show)(as i am the only manager who was seeking to get it passed) as PBG will no longer be supporting its online script files (which was what it originally was for), Elizondo/Jesse, who I've asked to contact LCPDFR, has no interest in the trademark and so far no other manager has expressed to me they were interested in ever having the trademark both before it's filing date and after the decline. There are few of our lower staff who supported the trademark but no one had access to the email account except management which was 5 of us, now 4 and freelance team members PBG hires for game development (ex: modelers, animators, etc).

 

The Original Trademark Plan

The biggest issue was the attorneys office had no idea how to file the SAPDFR, instead they referred to the SAPDFR Mod and GTA SA game itself as they marked (computer game, download software, etc) which may have been the case for GTA however not the case for SAPDFR this was only suppose to be license script files and unfortunately it was sent completely wrong by PBG's attorneys. I had my doubts but we was informed we could use it in commerce so we went ahead and pursued the online scripts and having clients license it. As I wanted to do a mod for GTA:V of course I went ahead and used the same name I suspected to be going through.

Recent Communications with LCPDFR

In addition I've notified the LCPDFR team about the whole ordeal, even though they didn't mind the SAPDFR name, I still felt low to ask them to remove the trademark from their footer (as i sought to protect the online server files we licensed). Since then I've apologized to their administration and discontinued the online licensing (many of the clients are indeed upset about that fact but we no longer have the right to have the R (rights reserved mark)). They should be aware the trademark won't pursue any further and we can probably expect to see this change 1-2 days from now or even sooner as it was filed yesterday to cease.

Where SAPDFR/SAPD:RR Stands Now
Any updates for this thread will be posted by a PBG representative, I will probably sign in to change the main post for future alpha releases (if the R* updates don't become an issue). There's more i should mention about this mod: the management team of PBG doesn't really have the interest in pursuing SAPDFR/SAPD:Rapid Response, I've assigned it to one manager and another lower level staff member during my leave. So if the R* updates do become more frequent we can see this mod would die out as they focus more on actual game development and from time to time wouldn't mind modding as they enjoy the game themselves.

 

Here's the most recent post from a PBG manager regarding this mod: "This is an open alpha, meaning it's not fully complete. With each significant change we make we'll release the update here. Users are encouraged to report any bugs they find. Our main goal is to release something players can enjoy now. While adding new features we hope users do report any bugs they find so we can quickly address them."

I had one of the managers contact the LCPDFR team to ask them to remove it (refer back and read my last post in its entirety because you obviously did not), It was more civil than threats as it started with a small request (as they have before agreed to us using the name when we asked for permission: that too is on their website if you dig a little further), in fact there should be an entire conversation somewhere on their website.

That's fine if you refuse to play the modification and it doesn't hurt anyone; as a modification is a modification. Not to brag but 3,868 other people seem to have no issue with G17media and My dispute (in no way does this involve you so you shouldn't comment on things that doesn't pertain to you; if you dont want to play it then simply scroll on by). not to be rude but it doesn't change my income nor anything i own in my personal life. As I've said I've removed myself from staff within them due to my mistakes and the internal damages I've caused with funds for trademarking not just in the US but recently spent for semi-international; You can either play their modification or not, they're releasing it per major significant change to keep the GTA V community entertained.

Okay, yeah, I am giving my two f*cking cents right f*cking here.

 

First of all, this is a cheap ripoff of LC/LSPDFR, and IIRC, G17 Media copyrighted the name SAPDFR.

This is bullsh*t, and you're stealing their names, just to make success with your own mod.

 

Change the name or go to jail bud.

EDIT: Sorry if I sound pissed and hotheaded, I am pissed and a hothead, but still. The first name you used was not a registered trademark, but they did that way before any of you thought of it.

I've seen your legal threats, and to be honest, you wont get sh*t with it. You registered a trademark a couple of weeks back, while Sam, Cyan and LMS did that more than 6 months ago, and therefor it's theirs in short. I am not willing to discuss this more.

im just gonna ignore the treadmark issue to not contribute to the derailing of what this thread is about.

 

 

im just gonna say that now that there are about 3 cops mods out there im just waiting for a CRIME SPAWNER MOD that will actually spawn crimes (both small and large) to appear around SA. preferrably regardless of weather you are playing as a cop at the moment or just as the story character. it should be your choice if to approach a crime as a police or as story characters.

I think I did something wrong

 

All I get from this mod is two random NPC shooting each other, then they shoot me and I kill them and that's it. After that the same things happens.

 

Is this all the mod does?

Registering a trademark for this is just ridiculous, you just wanted people to find your mod first when they google for it.

The most important thing of a mod is the features. not the name.

Nope nothing sounds wrong there. You're currently on version 0.1a, keep in mind this is an open alpha and as our development team for this makes significant changes we'll update the release.

 

The images on our site shows version 0.110a (0.1.1) which has some changes;

Call out changed

Requesting assistance (fire/medic/police)

And a few more things that will be described in our change log.

Registering a trademark for this is just ridiculous, you just wanted people to find your mod first when they google for it.

The most important thing of a mod is the features. not the name.

Hello Freakyy!

 

TXmex did not register the "SAPDFR" trademark for the modification, it was actually intended for the Online scripts he licensed.

 

We're hoping to see our developers for this modification release every week with some major significant changes to keep the ball rolling. As TXmex is no longer with us, we do have two more very experienced coders working on this modification in their spare time.

Awesome, cant wait for the update. The current version is working with the new script hook... Great job guys and keep it up... Thanks very much for the additional fun...

 

Would be neat to have an option for an officer to have a taser, pepper spray...

 

Crowd control also a la protests, for example perhaps a ped riot around certain building and officers trying to calm down the crowd..

this new mod is very buggy nearly impossible to use the menu and impossible to use partners i tried over 7 times or so it just won't let you select anything

 

it also puts you in a loop so you have to select the same thing over and over and over and over again until it lets go

It's going through the outfit (vest, shirt, etc) but thanks for your feedback, we'll patch this as soon as we can.

this is really buggy. To select something in the menu you press the space bar. To go threw the different menus you press enter or num5, half of the time you press enter or num5 it doesnt do anything. When it eventually does, the partner selection menu sometimes doesnt spawn a partner. paramedics, firetruck & rescue will just pull up then drive away, they dont actualy do anything. kinda pointless.

I'm ok with new customizing menu, takes some time but it happens only once.

But I have a weird problem: once I'm available - I get my first callout about suspicious persons, and that's it. Nothing more. No more callouts at all.

After installing and try to play I found several problems with the mod "RapidResponse 0.110a". Note: I have no other mods installed and I'm running on the last patch (Steam version) and using the last Script Hook V:


1. Menu: Almost impossible to select anything. (for some reason). You can try Space, Backspace, Enter nothing works. After several attempts I finally was able to pass through the first options. (after style menu)

2. Partner don't show up. Which is strange because they did in the previous version.

3. Press F8 to "toggle available" and you immediately get a call to go to a place an shot some guys...and that's it! No more callouts for 30/40 minutes. (I'm assuming it should have more calls. It could be intentional, however.)

4. The script don't shut it self down after reloading the game. Still receiving calls even with a normal game character.

5. Left Shift (Traffic stop) does nothing. (Update: I noticed that more often drivers leave their cars and run off. That's what the function should do?)

6. Aim+E (Detain civilian) does nothing. (I tried with pedestrians and criminals.)


Every other option works perfectly the way it should. I really hope for some improvement in the upcoming versions. For awhile I really had a total different perspective playing as a cop through the city streets...I want more! :lol:


One thing that could be very useful, is the possibility to play as one of the game character with the police uniform so you can also do some side missions, like these random crimes that happens through the town unique to each character.

Well release a patch tonight that fixes the calls and organizes the start menu rather than having "continue" and "back" well have something like "vest" etc.

 

The manual contains commands for the next version (releasing arrests and K9), and the next planned after that is pursuits and possibly traffic stops.

thanks :), from only being able to play the first callout i think this mod will be good when its fixed :) this is something i wanted in gta v
