[V|REL] SAPD:First Response

You couldn't have come up with a more original name? You are clearly trying to leach off of the good name LCPDFR built, which for many will diminish whatever achievements you have made with your mod.

And to go as far as to try and trademark it? Really?

As much of a fan of police mods I am, I cannot condone this odd and seemingly hostile behaviour!

Going to put you on the spot. If you had the opportunity to change this mods name, what would it be? Not much else you can call it seeing as in the end it will do the same stuff as the latter.

Hi Duplex,

I'm sorry you feel this way. May I explain the history behind SAPDFR? SAPDFR was titled by one of our old developers, when he left I gained control of where it was directed. I contacted the LCPDFR team to explain and compromise, we came up with a different name for SAPDFR, however one of the PBG representatives contacted them later and the LCPDFR team was completely fine with the name being SAPDFR. The goal was to find a permanent name to release our SAPDFR Online versions.

Again, I'm sorry you feel that way and I hope you're more understanding based on what I've shared with you.

PS. I believe the names we were going to change it to was either The Blue Line, or Rapid Response. Something along those lines I honestly can't remember.

Great mod... Thanks very much for adding great moments to a great game... No matter the name, it's about having fun and enjoying the mod.... I hope that the mod is greatly expanded upon, as I really enjoy this aspect of the other side of the law a lot... This is one of those mods that i would have no issue with supporting financially....

Also it seems sometimes they forget that they are cops and run/drive away when you attack someone instead of help you :p

So I have tested this as a county sheriff and noticed that none of the shootouts in the mackenzie field area are actually active.

The peds just stand there staringat eachother. If you point a gun at them they'll scroll 1 and shoot back but thats it.

There's a lot of problems now but hey! It's just a demo. Can't wait for the future features. Being a cop is the best thing to do in GTA V...after mayhem, of course.

You seem more like a troll than anyone else. I just can't understand why you do this. If you don't like it don't post in the topic. You just can't see that there can be multiple police mods in GTA 5(And there is 3 in development). You only leave a trolls responses if you have somthing bad to say don't say it you should leave constructive criticism, suggestions, and what you like.

Who cares what the name is its a mod for a game they can name it whatever they want.

This is pretty great though there are a few issues like the infinite loading screen when you die and the fact that enemy blips don't disappear when they're killed. I suggest people get a call around the grove street area as the gang members around usually get involved in the shootouts :)

Its not the attempt to create a police mod that is annoying people, its the fact that that by calling it SAPDFR people assume its the "sequel" to the original LCPDFR. They could have called it many number of things, eg;

SAPD: Code Three

On Patrol

Rapid Response

I'm sure the mod here is fantastic, but why try to copy the name? :(

Cause the LCPDFR team as the OP said, they allowed him to do such a thing. Is that not enough for you people? Just be glad it is out this early so we have a taste of what is to come and what is in the foreseeable future of Police Mods for GTA V.

This is getting weird where did mods go, it's mods not a game how can someone even care about trademarking a name for a MOD it's not a game what is happening, how can you turn modding into such a corporate thing, i don't understand why not just work together it's mods not an actual game where everything was done by hand it's mods for fun.

I would solve this on both sides as quickly and silently as possible, before newssites picks up on this and it turns into a reputation ruining mess for everything, i can also say if this does turn into a public dispute then pretty much everyone will be on g17's side, it can go as far as one of the biggest youtubers defending them, as theres a whole lot of youtubers who knows about LCPDFR, i would say make up and be friends before it's too late.

Apart from the fact that NO, they didn't allow it for GTA V, it also doesn't f*cking matter.

This mod could use any name in the world, seriously.

Let's do four here, straight outta my mind:

GTA V: Policeworks

GTA V: Gun & Badge

Los Santos & Blayne County Police (LSBCP)

GTA V: On Duty

But no, they think they need to steal another successful mod's name in order to get success (which i completely disagree upon*), this mod is automatically non-existent for me.

* I would use the one which i considered best of the Police mods. Doesn't matter the f*cking name, dummies. Cut your sh*t and get another name. If your mod becomes the best, you bet i'll use it.

Be naive not. As it stands, right now this is nothing more than straight up foul play.

PS: The name is just gonna drive you guys down anyway. Then you can tell me how's it being under the shadow of another mod.

They didn't steal that mods name at all they made this mod for GTA SA too and now they want to try to make it for V too.

I agree. There's already a lot of people talking about a boycott. No need for this kinda behavior. Hopefully the two groups can get to a agreement and end this silly thing.

A little more than a week ago, people were in tears because it would take months to see mods in GTA V and now that we got them they spit in the faces of the devs...

If the LCPDFR fans could show the maturity and humility the LCPDFR devs are showing, it'd be great for everyone !

Anyway, great little mod.

Is there any roadmap ? Features you plan to add ?

we are all impressed by their work and they surely did alot for the modding community but this is going to end up badly for both sides or one which is palm beach if it keeps on going as newssites will be all over this once they find out

it's going to get HUGE and thats why i think it's best to solve it on both sides happily silently

Lel, instead of actually discussing about mods, people are discussing trademarks and whatnot.

Hi everyone,

I did not want to go into the brand issue but...

Let me make this real simple and quick; it was my decision to trademark SAPDFR as one of my advisors told me to. As we do have stand alone games in development that are trademarked I went ahead and did SAPDFR, which was a mistake as it's not a stand alone. For every trademark it's a bill of at least $400 per country (The plan we register with), so you can image how I feel reaching into the PBG funds. It was also my decision to contact LCPDFR upon the issue. With that being said I'll be leaving the PALMBEACHGAMES team.

While I am leaving the palm beach games team, due to status of the SAPDFR name I've took the initiative to change the modification name to Rapid Response. Rapid Response will be developed by the PalmBeachGames team and will continue to be an open Alpha meaning every major significant change will spark a release.

If anyone has any questions feel free to pm me.

Hi,

Preferably questions regarding the modification as I can still answer those.

Question about mod.

Any chance for police car chases in the next update? I'm spending hours waiting for random vanilla chases right now, and it's far away from fun.

If you shoot a random vehicle when a police car is nearby they will chase that person and you can join in :D It doesnt always work becuase its buggy but sometimes it does

My biggest problem so far is when my partner shoots someone close to other cops, they shoot him. But I'm sure it will be fixed in future versions.
