Get Closest Ped Fleeing?!?!

Hey guys, super pumped about coding some GTA V mods but I have encountered a problem. The native PED::GET_CLOSEST_PED() doesn't get peds who are fleeing. Is this normal? Any work around? Thanks!

code I made to test it, sets people on fire in a certain range when you press a button, but doesnt work on people fleeing, even if they are close to you.

You're setting the poor souls on fire! :'(

It probably gets the closest ped, but can't set the entity on fire for some reason (my guess).
First off, request control of entity if it's online.
And

TASK_ARREST_PED
or
CLEAR_PED_TASKS
may help.
Try it then.

I mustn't have explained very well. The code works on people who are just walking around doing their thing, but if they are running away it won't work on them. It's not the fire thing thats my focus, thats just for visual testing (and partly because its funny). I was talking to JuilioNB and he's having the same problem: not being able to get a reference on fleeing pedestrians

Can someone tell me how I can recreate this line in LUA?

PED::GET_CLOSEST_PED(playerCoords.x, playerCoords.y, playerCoords.z, 10, true, true, &closestPed, false, false, -1);

Not really sure what I'd put for &closestPed
