He knows absolutely 0 about BJJ, grappling, perfect striking techniques, etc etc. He is a brawler and a fist fighter, not even close to an MMA fighter. Just because he did one spinning back fist does not mean he is an MMA fighter. On the other hand, Niko would destroy Luis in a hand to hand combat fight. He has army training and his kicks are vicious, looks alot like tae kwon do. He's still vastly more capable than the majority of characters in the game, excluding Niko (He could most definitely take Johnny). Rockstar literally copy & pasted Niko's fighting techniques for both Luis and Johnny, but from a biographical standpoint, Niko is the only one out of the trio who has legitimate combat training having gained it in the military and used it on the battlefield. Niko's combatives are most representative of Krav Maga, although that's mostly because of the Krav Maga expert who mocapped most of Niko's moves alongside Bas Rutten. From a biographical standpoint, Luis' time in the pen, living on the streets, and his competitive MMA style fights he participates in have undoubtedly made him a capable fighter, but Niko would destroy him. If not for the copy & pasted moves, Luis would be the equivalent of a Toughman competitor. True. The way I see it, I see the cut-scenes to be canon and the implemented hints. Niko knows krav maga as shown in, "Three's a Crowd" and, "Search and Delete". Johnny is just a brawler kinda guy as shown in, "Heavy Toll" where he straight up punched the guy in the face. Luis performs a spinning backfist as shown in the trailer. The origin for the spinning backfist is hard to know but I just learnt it from kickboxing. In, "Bang Bang", Luis just headbutts Evan, which is dirty fighting I suppose. In, "Chinese Takeout" Luis does a push kick using his left leg to disarm the guy. Because he used his lead leg, it left him room to use footwork from his right foot, which allowed him to generate momentum and therefore knock him out. But the biggest hint is Rockstar's implementation of the cage fighting. There is a reason why R* implemented this, a reason why Luis is the, "Liberty City Champion". R* used this is to show that Luis is the best fist fighter, otherwise there would be no other reason why they implemented it. Hence why I believe, because of R* hint implementation, that Luis would win in a fist fight. I do respect your opinion, I do. It's just R* implementation of,"Liberty City Champion" that shows Luis is the best fist fighter. The same reason why Niko is the best driver in Liberty City when awarded, "Genetically Superior".
