*DVICK83*
This ERR_GFX_D30_INIT is a driver error, but I can't figure who is at fault Nvidia or GTA 5. I have found the only solution to fix this while inside the game. I haven't had a crash for the past few days. I've had similar problems with other games like Bioshock Infinite, Tomb Raider, and Crysis 3. Tomb Raider was the worst in which I had to select the settings about 6 notches below optimal. It seems that the optimal settings are anything, but optimal and in fact are causing a lot of problems in a lot of games. I've been doubting the Nvidia drivers for the past year or so as being unstable and bad. This will not be a easy fix for Nvidia or GTA. I been testing for 2 days with every setting combination and have only found this to work correctly. You will need to go inside your Geforce Experience and put the settings at notch 5 and turn on MSAA x2 and turn Textures to normal. I have been playing for hours without any problems. This seems to be a settings glitch on either Nvidia or GTA 5 itself. I've tested the video card temperatures and nothing is out of the normal. I've seen a lot of useless threads about reinstalling drivers, software turning clock settings down, buying new memory, buying new power supplies, RMA video cards, but this isn't the answer because (I've tired it all) it's not a software or hardware error because the game will still play for a little while (10,30,1hr.) if set to optimal or higher, but later crash. This is more than likely a buggy driver issue that has plagued gaming for sometime now without a fix available for who knows how long which leads me to believe it may be Nvidia at fault for these problems.
