Is it possible to run GTA V on a dual core?

I have a Lenovo Y40 with an i7 4510U, 8GB, and a R9 275MX(equivalent to a GeForce GT 760M). Before wasting 65 gigs worth of space I want to make sure the game will work unlike Far Cry 4. So has anyone tried it using a dual core CPU?

Maybe. but don't expect your framerate get any higher than 20-25.

I run it on a dual core cpu and get 50-60 fps with almost everything on normal setting, however I run it at 1280x720...

I thought normal was the lowest setting. Correct me if i am wrong.

It is, I have a stock Pentium G3258 and i can get a steady 30fps on normal/high settings settings at 1080p, but that is a very good dual core

You should be fine, i have a i3 3.10ghz (would be a i3 2100 or something like that?) and it handles it fine, no launch warning either like some said it does for dual cores, mine is a dual "quad" core (hyperthreaded) and i imagine most or all i3s are too.

Eh, for some it's more playable than for others.

Some dual-cores experience some pretty bad texture and object pop-ins.

I have intel i5 4200u 2.6 GHz, 12 gigs of ram and nvidia geforce 750m and it runs about 50-30 fps, mostly 40+, but sometimes drops to 30. So yeah you can run it just fine :D.

Yes, it will. Everything on normal settings + disabled features such as AA, AO,...etc. draw distance, population,..., sliders all the way down.

Why invest so much money on a laptop, If you could build x-times better desktop with more or less the same budget? You can hook up the desktop to your HD-TV / 4K TV, if you have one.

If the problem is mobility, then get a ass cheap netbook for 150-200$/€ whatever or a tablet. It will do just everything besides high intensive rendering and gaming.

I'm not trying to bash you or something like that, I just want to enlighten everyone. I did the same mistake once.

Yes, it is. I have a laptop with a cpu worse than you. i5-4210u gtx850m ddr3

I can play very high shaders and textures, high shadows, no msaa, normal grass, 1080p, 30-45fps
