bb2015
Due to the fact that I have really slow, no other choices home internet,I originally downloaded GTAV on my laptop via Rockstar Social Club.I couldn't bring my gaming pc because I was going to download the game in a library.I can't run the game on my laptop so I figured I would be ok downloading everything to it,then moving everything over to my gaming pc[desktop].{can't bring my gaming rig to a library.}The download itself at the library took three and a half days.. {i need not tell anyone how big this game is.}Anyways, I got the game fully downloaded along with the patches included..After that I transferred-copy and pasted-the RockStar Games file in Program files to my Desktop [gaming pc] when I got home. From there, the game was a success and I was even able to tether to my cell to play online for a bit..Next morning, Rockstar released a patch that I wanted to get.I tried to update the game and when the patch was done downloading, I get an error saying"sorry, grand theft auto v is not able to be found in your system. Please reinstall and try again".. This was strange to me, considering I could already play the game, just could not go online with it now.So I turned off my internet on my computer and was still able to play the game in "offline mode".Note: I checked all of the files on my laptop as well as my desktop to make sure everything matched with one another.Problem: My laptop has [in programs] the grand theft auto v "uninstall" button, whereas my Desktop does not.I'm pretty sure the fact that the gtav program not being in my desktop is the culprit...Are there some kind of hidden files for this game still in my laptop?Rockstar recommends I download the entire game again.. But I think it's incredibly stupid that I am still able to play the game but not update it..Can anyone tell me what to do to fix this? Has anyone had this issue? and Has anyone seamlessly transferred over to another pc without any error whatsoever using Rockstar Social Club without having to do a clean reinstall? This is really bumming me out because all of these framerate patches are coming out and I'm still stuck with a broken game. Any help appreciated. Thanks Guys! Edited April 22, 2015 by bb2015
