riahc4
(Wow these forums have changed since last time Ive been here. Way better) Im thinking of slightly upgrading my PC to play GTA V at 1920 x 1080 on low quality. I plan to upgrade to a Q6600 and 8GB of RAM. I have a decent video card. I wanted to know what experiences people were having. Thank you

Bxx
I have a PC that is considerably low. It's a Q8300 overclocked to 3.0 ghz, 4GB RAM DDR2 and a GTX650 1GB. My game runs at 1080p borderless window, graphics are all set to normal with the exception of particles and post fx, these are high, population density at the lowest, and just a bit of distance scaling. The game runs a'ight for me, but see, I'm not a pc mustard rice elitist, my whole life I played games at 30fps or even less since I never had top notch hardware. So the game runs at 30fps, but it drops around 20ish at times, if I play online with 30 other players I end up seeing the FPS go to 17. But usually stay at 30 or high 20's which is completely fine for me, but might not be for you. I used to have some texture problems, like the game wouldn't load it's road or building textures ahead of me if I was driving too fast but this apparently got fixed with yesterday's patch for me. Although this game is sort of an oddball, people have the most crazy issues within every patch, performance drops and whatnot. So basically if you got a PC worse than that, you won't be having a good time in the streets of Los Santos. However if you got something on par to run it, the game looks decent even with all on medium, looks even better than the last-gen consoles imo. diablo440
even a nice haswell i3 is going to lag unless you just have an insane video card, ram, and hdd config but still. Get a cheap i5 quad core any gen, at least 8GB RAM, and a budget 192bit video card. Unless you play low res with most stuff low of course.. Yeah, Im looking for gameplay, not pretty colors, like most idiots. A game is to play, not to look at. 30 and even lower is fine with me. Might have to overclock though...
