My Opinion/experience on GTA Online.

You dont have fun in GTA Online. You develop a materialistic mentality that turns into a vicious cycle. You grind missions to afford the new cars and stuff in the update. You are happy for a while but you are left unsatisfied so you you grind even more so you can upgrade and customize your car and get more stuff. this goes on and on with each patch making it harder to make money. f*ck you R*! yeah the stuff in the actual update did not cost real life money but you had to slave away to get that content. or you could buy pay $20 to buy a car worth a million dollars. What a f*cking scam. R* has become another greedy game publisher.

Sometimes you have to reinvent the game yourself. Im pretty much tapped out.

I play maybe 2 hours a week and it's still fun to me. The trick is to have a life outside of gaming and GTA can be a part of my downtime not all of it.

 

Mix it up. Wear nothing but running shorts, pig mask and pink RPG everything, then be James Bond all suited and booted.

I would say that R* isn't as bad as those App Developers, though. Those In-game App Purchases are vicious.

Gotta stop you here, Hoss. It's obscenely easy to make money in the game now. Mission payouts are through the roof and the heists payout pretty well.

Yah, no. Not only did I enjoy what I bought with the money I earned, I enjoyed earning it. God forbid a game require you to actually work for stuff. The audacity...

Only if you suck at the game, are lazy, or simply don't have the time to play. If you don't have time to play, find a less time-intensive hobby.

And "slave away" ? Come on man, you can't be for real, I almost had a giggle when I read that line.

 

But once more, nobody forces you to do anything. Don't wanna buy shark cards ? Fine. Don't wanna grind to unlock your stuff ? Your loss. Might as well acknowledge that you are the problem here, not the way Rockstar designed their Game.

 

Furthermore, Rockstar doesn't give two sh*ts about you no longer being satisfied with their product. You already gave them your money once, maybe even twice.

I don't grind missions, ever.

 

I choose the missions I want to play and then try to complete them as best I can; taking as little damage as possible and working out new and interesting and sometimes more challenging ways to do them.

 

Why play Titan for the 30th times just to do it the exact same way every time? Force yourself to use a short range weapon with a small amount in the mag. Give yourself a time limit.

 

I play the missions to play the game, not grind in order to buy another car I won't drive.

 

If you are grinding then that's your problem, not rockstar being greedy.

You described it well, but it all goes from person to person.

For me this is what makes the game enjoyable, I like grinding missions to buy the things I want, I like how GTAO is more of a second life sort of thing, is fun. I'd be bored to death if I could have access to everything the game has to offer with no effort, or little effort. I'd probably just play with my new toys for about a hour or two and then put the game away because there is no sense of achievement in that, and this is one of the things that I look forward in games because if I wanted to play a f*ck-all type of game with no purpose besides just go out and do whatever, I'd play Gmod.

Also you don't have to buy shark cars, money is not hard to farm in this game you guys that are just lazy and don't want to actually play the game but want the goodies straight away.

I think it's a mentality. If you play the game for the reasons you said, then yeah your theory is pretty spot on. But if you play the game looking for fun things to do, the game is a limitless sandbox.

 

Get with a crew. Make some friends. Get creative. If you play this gtao competitively, you're probably going to tire of it. Relax and enjoy the game. It's a work of art.
