9i OTD
What are the benefits of doing community service for school anyway? Edited April 24, 2015 by Hocko1999_fgc

B7R
I had to do 70 hours of Community Service as part of my Hospitality VET Course. I don't remember how long exactly but I was doing a Hospitality VET course back in the day and the Community service part for my school for Year 11 was 36 hours I think? maybe 24? I hated it through so I dropped the course when I reached Year 12 All I had to worry about afterwords was the computer work placement and Retail stuff but that was way better then Hospitality They were both 24 - 36 hours I think it was more work placement (which the school places you in a job related to the course you are doing and you don't get paid for the work) then community service but it appears to be the same thing. In Year 12 The Work placement courses extent up to 70 hours or something? I'm a little sketchy on the details through as it's been a couple of years since i done it. Sorry but catering and working in my restaurants is not my style.

PhillBellic
I had to do 70 hours of Community Service as part of my Hospitality VET Course. What state was that in? New South Wales. Keep in mind I did the course in 2006/07, so things may have chenged since then.
NightmanCometh96
5 hours a year (10 hours for seniors) at my school. IIRC, your 4th quarter grade in history/government/ect. is dropped by one letter if you don't get the hours in by the first week of May.
9i OTD
New South Wales. Keep in mind I did the course in 2006/07, so things may have chenged since then. It could also be that my school is in a very 'rural' area, thus the education is much sh*ttier than other areas and they wouldn't include community service as a result. igotskiz
Optional 8 hours if we wanted to get a certificate last year. Thank god I did it and didn't rip up the certificate, as I needed it for my Senior Project this year.
jatiger13
Every day that I behave as a normal member of society is a community service. I don't commit crimes or bother people, that's my service to the community. Some people a that it helps getting into college if you do some actual community service. It's probably bs though. I did 0 hours and I didn't have any trouble getting accepted. Early admission ftw.

ArcadeWilliamz
I had to do work experience for the whole year in grade 9 in middle school. I've moved schools interstate after the 2nd term so I didn't get finish work experience in the Northern Territory.
