Uncle Vlad
I laughed out loud at the last line of the article. Geralt of Rivia
Rockstar is a company that used to make some very fun games over ten years ago but is now the worst videogame company in the world, right up there with the worst of them like EA. Lolololol I see school got let out early this year. Ragref
BusterMcKnuckles
The issue here is that the reps can't actually do anything. The fact that they are instructed to disconnect after reading the script really isn't shocking. Rockstar needs to give these reps the ability to verify the proper info and restore access to the account.

LordRaijin
Whatever happen to the old fashion type games where all you need to do is to purchase a CD of the game... install it on your hard drive, and then play the f*cking game without having to register online for an account just to play it? I like it that way instead of being forced to register for an account just to play the game that I've spent a lot of money on. This is why piracy is on the rise. When you try to do the right thing by purchasing the game instead of stealing it... the legit players wand up getting screwed over by overly paranoid gaming developers who is actually fighting the legit players at an attempt to fight against piracy. paulmgrath
Cutter De Blanc
I think in summary the article could say "So here's one for all the comparison video making, Google hunting for rockstar employees bitching kind of people. Rockstar hung up on a gamer! Remember Hanging up on a gamer is as bad as sh*tting on them from a great height, doing their girlfriend, flipping her over for seconds and leaving before she wakes up. Let the outrage commence righteous gamers". It's close I think It's a business, and regardless of how you want to downplay it, that's bad, shady, and borderline unethical business. "Rockstar hung up on a gamer!" More like "Customer service hung up on a customer, and are instructed to." Don't see how being a gamer changes anything. It isn't rocket appliances to verify the original email, CD key or other info and update the account and have an email sent to the user to set a new password. Every call center on the planet has 14 year olds from the Philippines doing this for customers all day long. LordRaijin
Considering ALL of Rockstar's human practices, this is not surprising. They're great developers but also a bunch of bastards (not the devs, the people who boss around). Edit: How nervous the R* Support rep sounded... Probably his boss started IMing him "WTF ARE YOU DOING STOP NOW". Yeah I notice that too when I was listening to the audio on the video. Either that Rep was high on drugs or nervous as hell. Working in a call center owned by a closed-minded company is EXTREMELY stressing because they need to act contrary to what they actually feel like doing, people are really alienated. I can't fathom the concept of someone allowing this kind of treatment against them. I would rather be out on the streets than for my pride to be ruined by a bunch of egoistical assholes. People should really protect and defend their pride at all cost. Stop being such a nerve bag pussy, and fight for your pride and for proper treatment. For as long as people allow this to happen nothing will ever change with regards to proper treatment in the work force. Fuzzknuckles
Meh. Most people that work in call centres take sh*t from idiots all day long, and they're completely entitled to hang up when people give them sh*t. I think this is a highly manipulative article. In this case, they're just terminating the call because there's nothing else to say. What are people going to do, ask about their day? Get them to just repeat what they've already said? CarlitoDorito
Do support work directly with the Dev team then? They don't have their own manager or get solutions from the support site? There may need to be a whine and complain about rockstar thread now. It'll be really insightful. Edited April 24, 2015 by CarlitoDorito

That said, this is a dramatization, where's the real call? Unruly callers? You mean callers who are overly frustrated over a product that they no longer have access to all thanks to this new idea about forcing people to create an account once they installed a game? That each time you want to play the game that you must be logged into their system? To make things worst that the company tortures their frustrating customers by forcing them to deal with a robotic machine over the phone, and once you're finally get connected with the operator that you get stuck listening to boring elevator music for several minutes right before you finally get connected with the operator? Hanging up on people is not the solution but the worst thing that you can do. Lamborghini1335 and Otselot
kk9fan97
Fortunately, Social club wasn't hacked according to Rockstar but only attempts were made to attack. I can see at their support site they are looking into the matter. I believe they simply don't want to answer to the questions when they're taking action to resolve the problems. So, I don't see that their customer service sucks. the lack of help and responses from Rockstar Support has gone on since way before Social Club was hacked, and that is classic Rockstar Games/Rockstar Support to deny it was hacked when it is beyond obvious that it was hacked. That many players don't just get locked out of their Social Club accounts in that short period without something like that having occurred. I opened up a support ticket a week ago and have gotten no response whatsoever from Rockstar games. Just go over to the Rockstar Support forum page and take note of all the posts about not getting any response from Rockstar Support on support tickets about anything. Honestly in my opinion, their customer service is nearly equal to that of Comcast and Comcast does not know a single thing about halfway decent customer support. all Rockstar Support seems to know how to do is blame everyone but themselves for every single problem brought on by their lack of developing skills, lie, and hang up on the customers that call in, and that is both unacceptable and pathetic for a company like that. Cr!minal
Apparently Rockstar did issue a statement. Who to believe http://www.gamersnexus.net/gg/1917-update-on-rockstar-games-phone-support-hang-ups "We are aware of recent issues players have experienced when trying to contact Rockstar Support, and we take these issues extremely seriously. We have absolutely not instructed support staff to hang up on players who are reporting compromised Rockstar Games Social Club accounts. We have added a large number of new staff to help with the launch of Grand Theft Auto V on PC and in this case some of these new staff members didn’t respond appropriately. We sincerely apologize that these players didn’t receive the high quality experience they deserve, and we have taken steps to remedy this immediately." X-X-X
There's no excuse for hanging up on customers. You make billions from a game and these are the denegerates you hire as support staff? Most of them sound high/half asleep.

Funkadory
Just finished TBOGT for about the millionth time. Upto this point rockstar and GTA could do no wrong. Then came GTA V n all this online bullsh*t! Now the very last line in TBOGT is Yousef Amir saying and I quote 'f*ck THEM, f*ck THE PEOPLE... WHIP OUT YOUR DICK AND PISS ALL OVER THEM!!!' LOL at this, it's like rockstar was trying to tell us way back in 2009 what direction the company was going in!
