Why do people blame their terrible aiming skills on lag?

I was playing deathmatch, and was rolling, and killed the same person 5 times in a row. He then sends me hate mail saying that I'm a lagging cheater

A good answer would be that they're mad and it's always natural to want to blame things like that on other factors or people.

 

But in his defense, it could have been. Lag in GTA V is almost horrible in that it's barely noticeable but it makes a hell of a difference. I've been sniped through buildings because on their screen I was about forty feet behind where I actually was. In deathmatches a bad connection can make genuinely skilled players completely crippled; especially since connection matchmaking is entirely nonexistent in GTA:O.

Sometimes it's because their aim sucks and they can't admit it.

The lag in the game is bonkers due to its person to person connection thing.

 

 

If someone blamed lag.. Its probably lag... lag is annoying. Be it races... or death matches. I've never seen a game lag worse then this game.

Because sometimes there are lags ruining our aim.

 

Today I ran a guy over really hard, second later he stands up next to my vehicle and kills me. Few minutes later I stop a distance away from my friend and suddenly he is in my car.

You do know that while he may not be seem lagging to you, you may actually be jumping around for him?

 

Sometimes it simply is lag. When I'm playing the Stunters vs. Snipers ccc as a sniper, I often see cars jumping a few meters just when I shoot. Now I'm not saying I'd hit every time or that I'd hit at all, but lag is annoying.

 

I wonder if people on Wi-Fi with crappy upload speed have an advantage.

because i live in a place where the best possible ping is 200 ms, and almost always go way higher than that?

i think because when the lagger enter vehicle with you , you will notice the lag

the mesas are not actually teleporting , in other player's view they see the mesa hit you but in your point view , you can't see them

 

this same goes when anyone think enemies are crackshot

I was dogfighting someone is a Lazer a few days ago and I got repeatetly owned because of lag.

 

He kept rubber banding around making it harder to hit them.

I kelt hitting him on my cannons many times but he wouldn't take a y damage at all! Had to resort to missles instead.

 

Lag can sometimes make a difference in the air.

the mesas are not actually teleporting , in other player's view they see the mesa hit you but in your point view , you can't see them

Yeah, I understand how the lag works, just irritating when I'm well clear the on my screen yet his causes the vehicle to move to hit us, then bounce back!

 

If I could see it, I'd avoid it!

LAG is BAD in this game, especially DM's and races and very noticeable now.

 

I was owned in the Vesucci Beachfront DM the other day because of the lag, I was headshotting the enemy, then suddenly they were on top of me

then suddenly in a capture it was the other way around I was owning another player

 

Granted I'm on a wireless connection but even then its not consistant at all and the game can become unplayable at any point.

this is one of the many reasons i don't do deathmatch. too many times have i seen a win get pulled solely because one team had somebody with a sh*t connection on their side.

 

 

 

also, i wish R* would do something about the f*cking passenger lag that happens when you're in a car with somebody else. i don't know why or how that started happening, but sure enough, it's another f*ck-up that didn't happen (for me at least) until after heists were released.

 

if i'm driving, the passenger's game will lag, freeze up and it'll look like i'm driving straight through buildings and teleporting everywhere

 

if i'm in the passenger seat, the same sh*t happens with me. it makes doing drive-bys damn near impossible.

I complain when it really makes sense. Get this sh*t, I seriously shot this one guy like 20 times, saw them fall to the ground, but the game never registered I killed them. Then all of a sudden they pop back up and kill me.

 

I wish I remembered to save the video from my PS4. I rage quit soon after that match though.

Nice jab at auto aim players even though OP didn't mention he was in a auto aim DM. Anyway yes lag is a problem, I shot someone, saw them fall to the ground but then I die from that same person, total BS and yes I am a auto aim peasant so yeah terrible aiming skills plus lag equals dumb. Some players i simply don't bother with and avoid when i see them teleport lagging all over the place. I can't defend myself against them.

 

 

I can sit there shooting them in the head for 10 seconds.. Then I die and they teleport down the street.
