Self Radio volume is too low for you? Use this solution!

[LordofGTA]

1- Download MP3Gain.

2 - Install the software and launch it.

3 - Click on "Add Folder" on the upper left corner.

4 - Add the music folder of the game (C:\Users\PC-NAME\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\User Music).

5 - Now set the "Target 'Normal' Volume" between 95 to 100 dB (Higher is louder).

6 - Select all of the files and click "Track Gain".

7 - Let the software do it's job and launch the game.

8 - Re-scan the files and you all good.

 

NOTE: if the volume of the songs is still too low, set the dB beyond 100 (Not recommended).

No, you have to edit the source file.

Yes, it edits the existed file.

Yes, it increase the file volume - it will be louder than the normal.

 

and if you turn it up too high it will decrease the quality of the file.

Thanks dude. It was annoying. I felt like that a few of my songs are too quiet. Not very many of them were as loud as the rest of the radio. Hopefully this works.

 

By the way I have one question. Does this increase everything to the set dB amount? Or does it adjust the songs to be just as loud to be that dB amount? I guess what I'm asking is, will this get rid of the feeling that some songs are way too quiet, and others are too loud, causing me to constantly have to adjust my volume? It is annoying because sometimes I'll listen to a softer song and it will be loud as f*ck, but then a more wild song comes on, and I can barely hear the damn thing. I hope that this fixes that, and it doesn't make the quiet songs at a reasonable volume, but makes the songs that were fine before loud as hell.

My "beef" with this solution is that it's a short-term band-aid to a bug in GTAO--not your MP3 files.

 

Every MP3 file of mine that's barely audible in GTAO has more than enough audio level in any generic player on my PC.

I have normalized files in there (encoded with lame of course) and it is actually louder than the other radios. No need to push the gain too high.

well you can clearly see the fps is not stable at 60 when listing to self fm compared to another radio station , so i would say Yes, it affects the performance

Or we can edit the music with wmm to raise the volume level and convert it back to mp3

Or you can do this:

 

Turn game volume up in windows, helps if you have volume wheel on keyboard for quick volume changes in windows; like on the Logitech G110. Turn SFX volume to mid or lower and turn music volume all the way up. This way you don't have to install new software and have it running in the background, etc.

Yes but then the game radio station music is way too loud. I found it only takes 5 minutes to fix as the MP3Gain download is less than 1MB. And that was for 237 songs (1.7GB total)

No performance decrease while listening to Self Radio since the Ill Gotten Gains Pt. II update. The performance decrease was quite big before that update.

well i did it with 95 limit and some songs still low.so i lowered effects sound below medium and maximized music sound.i mean music sound was top so i also icreased peakers sound,i mean the laptop,from 25 per cent to 34 and better.

Hate to re-bump a old topic, but at one time this used to work, it no longer does. I've even tried clearing the music from the folder, scan for music (with none in folder) then re-add them (Fresh run of mp3 gain to 100db) and still the ingame music (self radio) is super quiet(NOT all songs but most of them)

 

Seems it only works with a very few songs now, *they all work normally if played within pc even if i play in background, but if played though gta it seems to use the base pre gained file.

It worked for me today, i did it with 50 songs and everything went perfectly fine

I had to bump mine to 99 and still has a lil difference. I recommend using higher quality files for the Self-Radio (mine are 44/128, 48kHz should produce better results without deep frying the sound if you need to crank the file volume high).
