LOL @ BAN

Far from dead. I play it every day, almost religiously. Love roleplaying. Around 150 hours on the clock and maybe 4k miles travelled.

Grand Theft Auto IV is neither dead nor alive, because it never sustained life to begin with. Regardless of format, be it material or digital, it is merely a collection of electronic impulses used to calculate and draw data onto a screen.

In all seriousness though, it is taking its final breaths. There's still a good amount of fans who continue to play and mod the game, but multiplayer is dead for the most part. In 2008, I would have never imagined having trouble finding a session. Now, you're lucky to find anything outside of free roam, and if you do, prepare to deal with modders. Everyone has transitioned from the Annihilator to chrome Zenturnos.

...We don't need Online to make IV good. Same for V. I'd prefer if Online never existed. Game would still be just as alive, considering Rockstar got well known and many fans solely from Single Player, which started the Series...

Also, that OP who got banned also asked to be a Staff Member in the V section. Guy's an idiot...

Agreed about your statement. I feel that Online hampered V's Single Player experience.

As long as my Ps3 doesn't die, which it won't because I look after it like a baby, there will always be Grand Theft Auto IV, plus the episodes.

I still have my Ps2, San Andreas and LCS both in perfect condition. I want my kids to experience these games when they grow old enough.

In terms of whether there`ll ever be new updates, that`s the only way it`s dead. People still play Pong for crying out loud.

Don't forget about Pac Man as well. Somewhere on Earth some one is playing that. :)

I'm pretty sure gta4 (and it's DLC's) are not dead. People still heavly mod gta 4 just for fun. For example that PC mod were you can play as a police officer is very popular. But other than the mods there's really not that much people who play multiplayer. TDM, free roam, etc.. I for one still play 4 and the dlc's who could forget such a great dlc in the series?

When I travel, in real life, to a city I haven't been to in a while, it's always fun how much I remember and how much I forget.

For example, visiting New York City is intense beyond measure, but once you're there for a while, you draw off memory and it all becomes familiar again.

Toronto is a massive city, but once you're there for a while, you know where to go and what to do.

Much is the same when returning to GTA IV, especially after spending a lot of time with GTA V.

I find myself just driving the streets and re-familiarizing with the environment. It's intense, at first, but after being there a while, it all comes back.

I don't think of these games as being good, bad, dead, or alive, but rather that they exist when we want to visit them.

And upon our return, like NYC or Toronto, the familiarity is as fresh in the game as it is in real life.

Just my 2¢. Cheers!

Nah nah nah Gta 6

If mods didn't exist, it would of been dead ages ago.

Even though I have a lot of problems with GTA IV, it's still a good game and I can see why people still play it, I still play every GTA , except LCS and VCS because I don't own them.

I don't have a single mod installed on GTA IV (I have installed them on EFLC though), and the game is still very much alive for me.

There are lots of console players who are still active and play the game without mods. For example, MVC.

I've never played GTA IV on anything else except a console and was playing it as recently as last night. Mods? What are they?;)
