Bonaldo
Seriously, turn it on You have to force it in NVIDIA Control Panel It looks MUCH better than MSAA x2, there are barely any jaggies noticeable. And it doesn't make things look so blurry like sh*tty TXAA or FXAA And what's best, the performance cost is negligible. From what I've noticed it's like few fps at worst. You turn on MSAA x2 + MFAA and you get quality of MSAA x4 or even x8 at the cost of MSAA x2. Note that it works only on NVIDIA Maxwell cards, ie. GTX 960, 970, 980 and Titan X, and you can't turn on MFAA alone, you have to also turn on MSAA ingame Edited April 22, 2015 by Bonaldo TheMostKnowledgable, FilipCRO, Shayd80 and 1 other

TIM74UK
I have a GTX980.... If you turn on MFAA you will see some serious frame drops. If you want to conserve the 60 FPS stability, then I would suggest turning it off. a stable FPS is critical if you want to be competitive in races and in death matches. TheMostKnowledgable
I got 960 and I been sayin this for days. It does perform and look better. I am using MFAA with MSAAx4. I am playing 30fps so I am not bothered by any setting of this game. If I want 50fps, i need to use msaax2, and it's ugly. I will rather 30fps with good motion blur and very ultra settings
solrayz
I turned on MFAA and noticed no difference except fps drop and stutters on my 970...currently running DSR x2.0 with no MSAA and looks pretty good as is. umairbasit and TIM74UK

TIM74UK
Is all you PC players care about is graphics? Just asking no arguements. GTA V is a Simulation..... So yep We PC gamers do care about how the game looks... but just as important is how fast it runs..... Unlike the Slow low resolution cut back version you console gamers are playing! Raavi
After this answer, please stop trying to stir off-topic sh*t in every thread or I'll be forced to take action. Is all you PC players care about is graphics? Just asking no arguements. Coming from someone who played the game both on PS3 and PS4, there really is no substitute for PC especially if you have the ability to run the game in ultra. The world feels so alive, buildings that would otherwise be mere anonymous facades now tell a story, every single nook and cranny has something to look at, the attention to detail is of an astounding level. TIM74UK
We really need one thread with screenshots comprasion MSAA, FXAA, MFAA maybe even DSR. WE all know various forms of AA will make the game look better..... What is important though is the performance hits one has to undertake to achieve those results. I do have quite a powerfull PC and even I am unable to run at ultra 1080 with MSAA on without dropping frames all over the place. My Rig: - Gigabyte Z97 X5 MB / Core i7 4790K @ 4Ghz / 8GB Corsair Dominator ram at 2700Mhz / Palit Jetsteam GTX 980 OC edition / 128GB SSD OS / Program Drive + 2 TB hard drive storage / Win 7 Ultimate OS I prefer rock solid 60fps without MSAA than massive wild FPS jumps with it tuned on. Bonaldo
In these articles you can see that MSAA x2 + MFAA gives image quality very similar to MSAA x4 (in fact so similar that it's basically impossible to tell the difference with a naked eye during gameplay), but with similar performance to MSAA x2. http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Graphics-Cards/NVIDIA-Multi-Frame-Sampled-Anti-Aliasing-MFAA-Tested-GTX-980 http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/mfaa_multi_frame_sample_aa_guide_review,1.html TXAA and FXAA are also NVIDIA's technologies but they are crap because they make everything look blurry. MFAA on the other hand is a real deal and a breakthrough in anti-aliasing technologies. Someone run a benchmark without MFAA and one benchmark with MFAA and post the results here What we should do is run benchmarks with MSAA x4, MSAA x2 and MSAA x2 + MFAA (which gives MSAA x4 image quality) and then compare the results Edited April 22, 2015 by Bonaldo

Xerukal
Turned it on, definitely noticed improvements. Should I keep TXAA on or no? I wasn't aware that the way it worked was blurring things. I thought FXAA did that.

TheMostKnowledgable
You need a 900 series nvidia gpu to use it, if you meet that, Open your Gforce Control Panel (not "experience", the classic control panel, you can find it either in your task bar icon tray or in your control panel). Go to Manage 3d Settings and click the "Programs" tab. Find GTA V (or add it if it doesn't detect it, should detect it though) and scroll through the list. Ensure your GPU is also operating on Performance Mode instead of Adaptive Mode in the Power Management section of that same page/tab, because nVidia has a hardon for saving power over AMD, and it actually gimps your card or can in certain situations.
