Try jumping off chiliad and trying to skim/glide down the mountain side.

Parachute into the ocean and open just before you hit the waves, no need for a perfect landing and being that it's flat the 100 feet is very easy to get within.

I had troubles with the same objective yesterday.

Did this both times I've had it, the first try.... opened the chute before I hit ground, had no issues...

 

Do people ever look up anything on their own or try more than once now a days?

Why do you guys go so far out of your way to this. FYI- Any building of height does the same. Like this one...

I tried jumping from a tall building, was barely a story up, certrainly less than 100 feet required 3 times and 0 success.

took a plane and flew very very high and jumped, was over a plaza that is only 1 story pulled the chute just above the roof-line, no success. I thought maybe the building wasn't working because the road is built-up above ground level there... guess I'll have to try the sign next time. The dailies reset before I managed to complete them.

I've tried this daily objective for 2 hours today, jumped from helis in the airport, went to the magic D everyone talks about, and even tried in some construction buildings in the city, i've killed myself so many times, and opened it in the last second so many times, i cant believe i still dont get the daily.

Also i've unlocked a platinum achievement that is given for safe landing when you deplete the chute under 150 feet 25 times, my daily is asking me to open it under 60 feet, this seems pretty bugged to me, i guess i'll lose my 8th daily streak, at least i got it to a week for those 100k .

This is bugged in my opinion.-

Read what it tells you below the list of objectives when you highlight each one - open your parachute once you are within 150 feet of the ground.

before i found the "D" method, I tried it at sandy shores airfield, but it never works.

had no issues doing this the first 3 or 4 times it came up just jumping out of helicopters and opening chute last moment.

 

yesterday it wouldn't work, had to use the method off a youtube clip jumping off the "construction" deathmatch building. south end, off the container... my theory based on nothing much at all was that being under/near the crane helped somehow.

Flew a Jet to maximum altitude, ejecto seato, skimmed across half the map, opened parachute 20ft from ground. Works every time. This is hard for others?

driving to the hollywood sign is 5 minutes max from everywhere....its so simple, i cant understand the many threads on thsi issue

As mentioned, this challenge can glitch and be impossible to complete.

 

Can. Most of the time it doesn't, but it definitely happens.

Well. I think this is simple.

 

It's sometimes bugged.

 

I've had issues doing this, and I open late enough to just catch the landing. Sometimes the objective completes first go, sometimes after 10 attempts it still does not complete. I reload the game and try again.

 

The people who think that it's not being done right are probably missing the point, it appears to be bugged sometimes. It's not always user error.

Sure, but what sounds more fun, gliding across the map or jumping off a sign? Could just as easily go to the helipad and grab a heli, jump, pull chord. I find it easier to get lower when gliding as the ground comes gradually instead of straight into the cement.

Had this challenge last night. Tried twice from choppers. Was definitely pulling the cord within the 100 feet required but no luck with it completing the challenge. Climbed the big D and jumped. Completed first time. Seems bugged to me but the big D trick worked a charm.
