fERON
First of all , go into nvidia control panel in "manage 3d settings" , click on global settings then choose "single display performance mode" if you don't use SLI or multiple monitors , also with every driver update this option will reset to it's default value I.E you have to do this after every driver update. After this , go into gta 5 program settings and choose "Maximum performance" in power management mode if you have one , then disable shader cache and enable threaded optimisation. You can also enable MFAA(900x series only) if you using 4x MSAA , because it will provide you AA just like with 8x MSAA or you can simply downgrade to MSAA 2x and have the same AA like before with cost of greater performance. This things boost up my fps , but i'm still was experiencing with stutters because my framerate was very unstable(90-60) so i downloaded nvidia inspector and limited my fps to 55 and stutters are disappeared. I'm hope this tip will help you to get rid of stuttering. P.S Sorry for bad eng EDIT: Almost forgot. If you use steam version create a bat file with this text and open the game with it. start steam://rungameid/271590 timeout 60 wmic process where name="GTAVLauncher.exe" CALL setpriority "idle" wmic process where name="GTA5.exe" CALL setpriority "high" wmic process where name="subprocess.exe" CALL setpriority "idle" Edited April 22, 2015 by fERON
solrayz
"Maximum Performance" would make more sense set with gta5.exe profile, otherwise those with OC will run max 24/7.

solrayz
Meh...everytime someone suggests trying MFAA I give it a shot and it results in horrible stuttering, even at 2xMSAA. Without MFAA I can run MSAA fine. Not sure whats up with that. Possibly because I'm using DSR.

Check how much VRAM it's using (not the "guide" in the settings menu, use afterburner or something like that to monitor it), you could be hitting that last 0.5GB
podyx
How to make a bat file? And it should be in the steamapps/common/GTAV folder right?
StoProGratis
Show me screens 4x MSAA vs 2xMSAA with MFAA. Cause I tried it and 2xMSAA + MFAA looks nothing like 4x MSAA!
fERON
How to make a bat file? And it should be in the steamapps/common/GTAV folder right? It can be anywhere. Just create .txt file with this text and then change .txt to .bat. If you don't have extensions then Control Panel/Folder Options click the View tab Untick the box for 'Hide extensions for known file types' Click OK Show me screens 4x MSAA vs 2xMSAA with MFAA. Cause I tried it and 2xMSAA + MFAA looks nothing like 4x MSAA! This is not gta but still. Try out 4xMSAA with MFAA. StoProGratis
Maybe I need to turn on MFAA in Nvidia Inspector? Cause I did it in the NV driver control panel and it looked a lot worse than 4xMSAA. And another question. Can I use MSAA + MFAA + FXAA at the same time? Falenone
"Maximum Performance" is just it forces the GPU to work on full load at all times, I use "Adaptive" at all times because it uses GPU power when needed, not forcing it to work on full load at all times when it's not actually needed. platinumgamer
I think disabling the shader cache was the main option that helped me.
