When the game first came out on the 360/PS3 there were noticeable differences in graphics, gameplay mechanics, some settings/features/options between story mode and online play. Is this true for PC story mode vs online? Like are any options/settings (including graphics) disabled from online mode?

 

Basically trying to decide if switching to the PC is worth it just to play online. Also, I assume there's still no cross-platform lobbies?

Which is interesting because I tried to play on the PC with the keyboard/mouse and it was a terrible experience. I had to plug in my 360 controller to get anywhere which is surprising since I'm pretty damn good at all FPS games with keyboard and mouse (Grew up on PC)

Well you can do your own radio station on the PC which is nice if you don't have access to Youtube, a music library, CD's, cassettes or vinyls.

I prefer the controller for driving and flying and I doubt I'm alone in that.

I honestly can't understand how anyone plays a game that involves more than only shooting with a keyboard.

Driving and flying feels awkward when your options are either forward or full left/right. I can't deal with that.

I only use my Logitech F510 gamepad for flying; for everything else the keyboard and mouse works very, very well. I can actually drive and shoot now (makes for a very easy "Out of Court Settlement" mission even on hard lol) whereas before I would be pulling my hair out trying to drive and shoot with the PS3's controller.

 

The addition of first-person mode throws an interesting mix into the equation; forget trying to drive the Armored Kuruma in FP(!), but I've surprised myself how FP on a motorcycle and Buzzard has boosted my agility in chasing players and basic navigation/dodging through the city. Plus they just look uber cool. :)

Many will still play auto aim. A lot of people just want the shiny graphics and editor, and could care less about pinpoint accuracy with the mouse.

 

When I eventually get it on PC, I will just play default aim as normal.

What's funny is that some pc players excuse for using auto aim( which is not a negative thing) is that controllers are too inacurate and you can't aim well, even a mediocre mouse user will beat expert controller etc. But in my experience using a ps4 controller in pc is everyone getting destroyed mouse or not lol.

 

But that's ok, in the end everyone should play the way they think it's more fun, but don't be too quick to judge others.

Nope, the only way to get even get on auto aim servers is by having a controller and AA activated. If you start using your mouse on an AA session, it won't lock to anyone.

In the early 90s I spent many hours playing doom, duke, etc on pc and since then I really haven't played on a pc. I couldnt picture gaming without a controller.

It's good when you're talking strictly shooting and on foot stuff, but when you start getting into things where analog controls are better such as driving or flying, it falls short with kb/m. Using a controller it's fine for those things though.

 

This is coming from someone who primarily played pc to start out with for the most part. Kb/m scheme isn't strictly superior, it does have some drawbacks at times but at least for shooting and precision with that, it's completely unmatched.

So you admit you have never played on the platform yet you think you can judge it?

 

TBH I think using a control is trash and aiming with a nub is a joke. But thats just my personaly preference. BTW I have owned every console since gen 3 (8bit gen aka sega master system and nes) to gen 7. Havent brought a current gen console and probably wont as my rig already smokes the consoles.

Try something before you claim it would "suck ass"

I wear a gaming headset for the artificial surround sound. It's annoying to have to feel like music is playing outside my "zone" by using speakers of another sort.

 

Also, even Spotify and other apps on console are missing something: in-game controls.
