GTA V Chronological mission list (possible trinity V version)

Yeah artuist cult doesn't have much of a impact on the story. But I tend to take the drunk couple straight after Ron emails Trevor, it just seems like a perfect opportunity, I always seem to encounter them straight after I get the email.

and then I take hitch lift 3 and the wedding lady when Trevor's in exile.

I also put most of Franklin S&F missions while Michael and trevor are in exile, because it's not like he's got much else to do.

Any developments on the Los Santos Part II area - before the Exile, roe? I can't imagine how difficult it is to order that area since it's such a long stretch of missions, and each character having their own strands.

Sorry guys like I said I lost a bit of interest in this project and still haven't really worked out what I want to do in the game. I'm thinking of starting again and recording a log of every single thing I do in the game and on what day etc. Doing this I'd try and play the missions in the best chronological order but it would probably take a while because I haven't had much chance to play over the last few days.

I'll let you know if I have any future updates.

So as of right now, I'm about to do By the Book, but I'm also laying out the order I'm doing. Saving in different slots, using all 15 in, after every mission - just in case I decide to back track and try again. What I'm getting is pretty close to OP's. It's not complete, and like I mentioned before, I'm only interested in the main story missions, and I'm taking into consideration the story context, who you're left playing as after a mission etc.

Los Santos Part II WIP

Fame or Shame

Dead Man Walking

Three's Company

By the Book

Scouting the Port

Heist Setup

The Merryweather Heist

Hood Safari

The Hotel Assassination

Did Somebody Say Yoga

Blitz Play Intro

Heist Setup

Blitz Play

Evil (Therapy Session)

Notes:

-As mentioned before, missions that can be started as any character, I'm starting them as whoever provides the longer cutscene.

-The M. K missions are all done back to back, seeing as he's the FIB's priority at the moment. Michael calls Dave to setup a meet after Fame or Shame, and Dave calls Michael during Dead Man Walking telling him he has to come meet his boss, Steve. There is a slight delay before the "By the Book Call," but it makes sense that after obtaining Mr. K they immediately try to gather information from him.

-After that, you're left with Trevor so now you can start the Merry Weather arc. Like OP mentioned, Trevor and Franklin's interactions during the heist seem as if they still aren't well acquainted, placing this before Hood Safari.

-I find that pretty much every one agrees that The Hotel Assassination takes place after Hood Safari, since Franklin does not have a reason to be back at his aunt's. Same goes for doing the assassination before Three's Company, since Dave threatens to send "g-men to his aunt's house."

-After taking a break from Michael's story, and he has spent well-enough time with the FIB and Trevor, Did Somebody Say Yoga can be completed considering Amanda mentions how much time out he's been spending.

-Blitz Play is done all at once in a sort of urgency, since the dialogue treats it as something they are doing on the spot.

-I'm including the therapy sessions since they're important to Michael's story arc, and I include Evil after Blitz Play so he can talk about all the recent events.

As I play through this I'm going to listen to optional phone calls and such, pay attention to the news, the internet etc. to get an idea if anything should take place at a certain time. As far as I know, the Hotel Assassination should be done after Hood Safari. It's the other assassinations I'm not sure about. This stuff is subject to change, and there are still a few more missions left for this section of the game. All in due time.

I kept thinking about By the Book, and how it seems to cluster up Michael's missions - but playing it just now, on the way to the vantage point with Dave, Dave will mention it's about time he sends another email as Brad. From what I can remember, there are no other emails from Brad after the one where he says it probably isn't Michael, and asks Trevor to come visit. Taking control of Trevor between the events of Dead Man Walking and By the Book, you get this message.

Most likely that email is the one Dave talks about in By the Book, so that justified its placing for me. And from looking at OP's/my order (Thelma's was very inspiring, although Trevor mentions that him and Ron saw the import data/notices or whatever, which is what got their attention - not because he saw it in By the Book) I think you avoid getting any of those text messages that imply you have to complete other missions before advancing on. Like Franklin texting M and T that he has to do something for Lester, before doing By the Book. That kind of stuff is avoided, which is good. No roadblocks. Just nice, smooth, story progression.

EDIT: There is a Weazel News article after By the Book talking about an award-winning book on the stock market. I find this interesting considering the assassination missions revolve around the stock market, so this further cements my idea of The Hotel Assassination taking place after those FIB missions.

EDIT2: Tried hanging out with Trevor. Wouldn't let me because he was busy. Not the busy indication when you try calling them and you don't talk, he answered and declined to hang out because he was "spending time with real friends." The response varies, regardless this definitely means he's busy with Hood Safari or Scouting the Port, since you could hang out with him before By the Book. So Scouting the Port is staying where it is.

EDIT3: Just went back to Trevor and he had an email from Brad saying "That's too bad." I'm not 100% sure on whether or not you can get this before By the Book. Going to reload a save real quick and check.

EDIT3.5: You can. I'm very positive now with the FIB/Mr. K arc ordering, considering Dave's comment on sending another email as Brad.

Very nice work so far! I'm assuming there'll be some random events added in Blaine County Part I and Los Santos Part II, as well as Strangers & Freaks in Los Santos Part II, but a good start nonetheless. I do have a question though. Wouldn't Exercising Demons come before Chaos? Exercising Demons ends right near Dr. Friedlander's office. I'm a little OCD, so I spruced it up just a little. lol

Yup, that's pretty much it. Only thing is you're using roe's old Part I ordering, the fixed one is here. Marriage Counseling isn't unlocked until after Pulling Favors.

And I'm sure there are some Strangers & Freaks missions that can fit into Los Santos Part II, but I'm avoiding those for now. I would suggest that Shift Work (Tonya's second mission) takes place some time after The Hotel Assassination, since she will angrily mention that everyone knows he's leaving the hood behind, and "he's gone all Vinewood and sh*t." And maybe "Evil" could have more appropriate placing when Michael has free time, but as long as it's after "Blitz Play." That way Michael can talk about everything. Then again, maybe immediately after Blitz Play works, I haven't gotten to that point yet.

I'll do some more later, and if I decide to make any changes I will. But so far, everything is working out.

Does Michael talk about "The Jewel Store Job" if you do "Evil" after "Blitz Play"? I ask because at the end of the session, Friedlander will ask Michael to pay cash and tell him, "If I'm hearing you correctly, you've clearly got some!" which indicates Michael told him about getting back in the life and making money off the jewel store heist. Therefore, it makes the most sense to me to do it at a point where Michael where still mention it during the session.

Therefore, it makes the most sense to me to do it at a point where Michael where still mention it during the session.

What about when Dave mentions in By The Book that it became tough to keep Michael's sh*t under wraps once he decided to "unretire" and fill the headlines with "Michael Townley is Back: The Los Santos Reboot" or something along those lines. Hell, even some of the crew members you can pick will know Michael as "Michael Townley." Ever since he pulled off the Jewlery Heist, it seems that people who knew about Townley know he's alive, or someone posing as him. His therapist would definitely know since he's told him everything.

EDIT: The quote is: "I only brough [Trevor] in after you'd put out your press release: "Townley's taking scores again!" The Los Santos Reboot."

So people who knew of Michael's past, if they saw the news report, definitely would piece together that someone posing as Michael, or Michael himself is alive and kicking (robbing). Wouldn't be hard for Dr. F to figure it out since Michael has told him everything.

And yeah, that's it so far, nWo.

Well, sure, but what I mean is that to me it would make the most sense to do the session at a point where Michael will mention "getting back in the game", thus justifying Friedlander's line about him (Michael specifically, during the session) implying that he's got some cash.

He apparently mentions it if you do it after Fame or Shame, or Dead Man Walking. Not sure about Blitz Play.

EDIT: Just finished the prep for The Merryweather Heist. Text message from Steve Haines says to meet him (for Blitz Play) and "not to be late." Starting to have second thoughts on the placements of missions. Everything else pretty much outweighs this one text message.

EDIT2: After The Merryweather Heist, Beverly makes a Bleet saying there is big news coming soon, with a hashtag "PoppyMitchell." This should help place the Paparazzo S&F missions, specifically the second one - most likely taking place before the heist.

So, should Exercising Demons come before Chaos?

It would work I guess. I mean it makes sense. Then again Michael calls his therapist saying he's stopping by to visit, he actually schedules the appointment. Evil is the one where he walks in without any notice, so Exercising Demons would work a bit better for the lead up to "Evil."

I wouldn't worry too much about the side-missions though. None of them have any connection whatsoever to the story, other than the towing missions since they reference Franklin's development multiple times.

Ok, I edited the list and switched Chaos and Exercising Demons. ^

I'm almost wondering if The Good Husband should come after Chaos and Exercising Demons since it ends back at Michael's house, which would make since with the switch to Franklin then.

It's hard to place The Good Husband because you have to wait for the phone call to trigger and that can come at any time after Friend Request as far as I know.

Agree that Michael's Exercising Demons should come around the same time as one of the therapy session visits but as cp1dell said it doesn't really matter when because there's no real connection to the story.

Wonder where to put all the other assassination missions. Are they all available when you get them? GTA Wiki says each one unlocks the next, but I remember from doing my last playthrough, the third one doesn't unlock immediately after the second, it pops up later in the story. Same goes for the other ones.

Sadly OP didn't place them, so I don't have any ideas. Only thing I can think of is maybe doing the second one after the first. Waiting for the others to pop up, and do them during the Exile chapter.

EDIT: Just did the Hotel Assassination. The redwood lawsuit news article appears online right after, meaning it's possible to do the next assassination right after. I'll update the list accordingly.

EDIT2: Just did the Multi Target Assassination. No news hinting towards the next one pops up, and Franklin's Aunt comments on LifeInvader only after this mission. So the second assassination mission definitely takes place after the first, and before Blitz Play.

Just make sure to finish them before the story ends. I once didn't and the game sent all the "end game calls and messages" to me twice. Rockstar hasn't fixed the bug so I think they're intended to do during the story.

And if some kid now wants to come and complain about not getting rich in the game otherwise, stfu and learn to use the bawsaq

Well yeah, they most definitely take place during the story. I know for gameplay reasons people like to save them, but this is purely for story purposes. From my playthrough the third one definitely doesn't become available until later, so they're not purely dependent on the previous assassination missions.

Also, where does the "What do you want, Michael?" line come from? Chaos or Evil? Because if it comes from Evil, than that definitely takes place before Michael's family leaves him.

The BAWSAQ and LCN stocks don't really move much after the story though do they? Any tips to make money off of the stock markets?

All the bawsaq stocks have trends that are simple enough to learn. Alternatively, you can invest in different stocks on different save slots, wait overnight, then continue playing with the slot that made most profit.

Alright, so I'm a bit past Blitz Play.

"I Fought the Law" and "Mr Richards" open up after BP. Though, based on Devin's dialogue at the end of "I Fought the Law," saying he'll get in touch with Solomon, Mr Richards definitely shouldn't be done until after. So that's easy.

You're left playing as Michael, so in my opinion you should go do "Mr Richards" next, before switching to Franklin or Trevor to start "Eye in the Sky." It's also worth mentioning that "I Fought the Law" unlocks Franklin's next assassination mission, which I think the third one is called "The Vice Assassination." Irrelevant though. BUT, the Exile chapter is coming up - so that can be saved for then.

And I'm not sure if you can, but there's that Devin mission where at the end Lamar is at Hayes Autos, and mentions he had to get in contact with Trevor to find out what Franklin was doing. In my opinion, this would make more sense once Michael and Trevor are allowed back in Los Santos - not while they're lying low and not contacting anybody. So if you can, I'd save that Devin mission until after the Exile chapter. In the meantime, that gives Franklin plenty of time to be doing Lester's assassination missions.

Really just copying down my thoughts here, also open to discussion and input on this since I'm unsure about a few things.

I think it's best to do the first two assassination missions back to back and then the rest while Michael and trevor are in exile. that's when I tend to do a lot of franklins S&F and extra missions because he's got nothing else going on during that time, so it won't effect the pacing of the story.

Im following the Guide for the missions which for the most part reflect what is stated in the OP. The only difference is Im doing Random Events ahead of the first Lester Assassination to maximize profit after that Ill wait til the last heist and aim for a few billion dollars.
