Guest
Just noticed that my Stratum (Stage 1 EMS+Stage 1 gearbox) in GTA:O actually accelerates WAY faster than my max-tuned (everything Stage 4 mechanically+turbo upgrade) Stratum in GTA V? How the hell is this even possible, R* and GTAF?
Ranna
Because there is a speed cap in online while there isn't one in story mode.
Guest
Because there is a speed cap in online while there isn't one in story mode. It does go way faster than Story Mode though. Story mode: 100 mph on counter max upgraded. GTA Online: 105-110 mph on counter with Stage 1 upgrades as in the OP, and it sounds it revvs way higher than Story mode. There is a "Speed Limit" in online, as to cause less lag and look like it has more pop-ins than it should. So ofc there is an obvious speed difference. Sean O'God
Perhaps it's a bug, since the speed cap is present in both V & Online. Can you provide a video or replicate the occurance?

Which is why all those forum members who tell you to "test dive it in SP" don't know what they're talking about SP works great for testing out customization options, especially if you've completed it and bought Franklins garage. Test driving, not so much..
Mach1bud
There is a "speed cap" in both online and story mode. The guages are there just for looks, and are in no way accurate at all. 100 mph in an Adder is way faster than 100 mph in a Picador. That being said, no cars actually travel over 125 mph. What testing have you done OP? Did you test it with a stopwatch? Twitter - Instagram - Youtube - Social Club
