Superpatsy
Been having a lot of issues with what appears to be artifacting in GTA V and was wondering if anyone could help me pinpoint exactly where the issue lies. I raised the issue in the AMD driver thread and was told by several people that it looked as if the GPU memory was on the way out and would be best to RMA the card. I had tested both of my cards pretty heavily to try and isolate the issue and realised that the artifacting was only happening on one of my cards. I have been playing the game for a couple of hours tonight on the single, working GPU and have noticed that the same issue is appearing on this card as well. Surely my luck isn't that bad that both of my cards are about to bite the dust at the same time? Just wanting some confirmation as to where the issue is stemming from! GPU's are running at stock speeds and have no overclock whatsoever other than on the CPU. I have tried running both of the cards slightly underclocked and removed the CPU overclock, and the issue still persists. A couple of screenshots and a video of the issue... First screenshot is a before, second is an after. Cheers! Frozenflake
Frozenflake
Perhaps may be the driver.
CrazyLamer
Yeah try reinstalling the gpu drivers, also download the direct x installer and reinstall it and see what happens when you start it again. Also post your computer specs, and i might be able to help a bit more. Oh, and in some rare cases if you are playing with an hdmi cable and let's say the hdmi cable is an hdmi 1.2 and the gpu and monitor/tv is an hdmi 1.4 or the other way around, you can get some problems aswell, surely not graphical artifacts (atleast not for me) but it might be worth looking at the meantime. GTA V + AMD v15.4 BETA driver with MSAA enabled = graphical artifacts. See this, maybe can help you: Also press "Show More" and read the description of the video for more informations. If this video does not help it, simply search by "R9 280X GTA V graphics artifacts" on Google or YouTube to find more answer.
Superpatsy
Uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and had no success. I'll try what the guy has done in that video tonight and report back. Frozenflake
t3zza
Not sure if it's an issue limited to the R9 200 series card as a few of the comments for this Youtube video suggest that some Nvidia cards are experiencing it as well. I have a Gigabyte 280x 3GB card and I'm pretty much experiencing all of the artifacts in the videos you can see in the comments section of this video. I've also tried the following: 14.12 & 15.4 Beta drivers (No change) Underclocking video card as well as manual fan control (Temperature doesn't exceed 70 degree celsius) Re-seating graphics card as well as re-applying the heatsink with new thermal paste Uninstalling the extra AMD software as per the video earlier in this thread Turning down settings to Normal/High The problem doesn't occur in any other game I've tried and it doesn't happen with my old card (Gigabyte 7850 2GB). Haven't been able to find any solution to the problem either so at the moment I'm just hoping it's a GTA/AMD problem and they'll be able to fix it in a patch or drivers. Frozenflake
GTA V will always run better with Nvidia cards. Edited April 27, 2015 by Frozenflake
Frozenflake
You game version is 335.1? You're still using 15.4 Beta driver? If yes, turn MSAA to Off and set DirectX Version to DirectX 11 mode in game.
