Zach Posted April 21, 2015 Share Posted April 21, 2015 I did a forum search, but this question has never been raised, it seems. So some random ped mugs some other random ped and the chase begins. Is there any way to get back the wallet without killing the mugger? They always run faster than my PC can, so fine, I shoot them in the leg and make them fall, and eventually I'll catch up. (Or I chase them with a vechicle... whatever.) But they always jump up and start running again. The only way I have been able to get them to drop the wallet is to shoot them dead, but the death penalty for a mugging seems a bit extreme. I guess it is best that you try to make the guy fall down with a car, and beat him up with your fist and imagine he's just out. If there is another solution, I would gladly hear it too. Besides, it seems a shame that muggers must die just because I'm goofing around a lot between story missions and haven't progressed far enough to unlock it. About beating them up, I can't. They jump up and run off and won't engage in a fist fight. The only way I have been able to get them to stay still and drop the wallet is to kill them. The wallet is an Item drop (like cash and weapons) and the only way you can get any npc to drop items is to kill them, unless it is scripted for them to drop that item. That makes sense (the first part), but it might be scripted. Once I shot a guy off a motorcycle (that he stole) while in a high speed chase, and he got up and said, "It's not worth it," and walked away. But for muggings, you're probably right.
